It happens when you don’t follow the rules Cost cutting is fine but some of this has to go through Congress. If a judge rules against you and you disobey the judge that’s when the crisis starts. Up to this point Trump hasn’t disobeyed the judges. He’s talked about it but he hasn’t done it. If and when he does it then we will have a crisis.

At first I believed him; then I thought it over and agreed with you that it was made up. But now I’m not sure again; why would he admit such stupidity?

Of all the arguments against amnesty this one is the dumbest. The truth is exactly the opposite of what you think: Latino voters are much more inclined to vote for conservative candidates. The last two elections should have showed you that. Eliminate the undocumented issue and there is really no particular reason for Latinos to vote Democrats. Personally if you offered me amnesty for most of these folks in exchange for a guarantee that they would have to vote Republican for the rest of their lives, I would gladly accept such a deal.

Again all of these problems are far outweighed by the positives of having these people in our society. The solution to most of these issues is to give them amnesty. We will eventually arrive at that solution when the American public discover that Trump has failed to kick them out and that it’s simply not possible. That realization may take a few years but it will come.

If he had a gun a lot more people would be dead no? This terrible incident isn’t an argument against gun control; it’s an argument FOR it. A crazy guy with a gun is much deadlier than a crazy guy with a knife.

This is just wrong. What happened is that in January Israel finally agreed to the deal that was on the table since last March. There were no changes. These hostages could have all been freed months ago but Netanyahu said no. Then, after Trump was elected, he said yes. Any hostages that died between March and now, while most of it is on Hamas, a little is on Netanyahu who could have taken the deal. And, if as many suspect, Trump told Netanyahu to hold off on agreeing until after the election, then some of this is on Trump as well. Playing games with peoples lives.

Nope. He was a great hero of labor. But he was also a socialist who didn’t understand economic reality, and his anti-immigration and trade views were a result of that non understanding. A complicated figure, much to be admire about him, but wrong about many things, much like other socialists like Bernie and AOC.

I was answering a direct question put to me about what countries in history welcomed undocumented immigrants and how it worked out for them. It worked out well, it continues to do so for us.

Not a lie. Please study the history of our border and relations with Mexico all through the 19th century and early 20th century. We didn’t even attempt to control our southern border until the mid 1920s. For most of our history it was pretty much wide open. Even after the 1920s we have never seriously trued to control the southern border. We’re not seriously trying to do it now.
