I’m still not understanding you. You’re arguing that it was undemocratic to put the issue up for a vote a second time? The voters decided one way; then they changed their minds and decided another way. How is this undemocratic?

So this article is filled with MAGA folks upset with Trump because they’re not getting SNAP benefits. One woman in a MAGA sweatshirt went beserk at a store because there was no money on her EBT card: https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/f-king-warned-maga-supporters-164108482.html The second half of the article is filled with non-MAGA responses which are not exactly sympathetic: “We focking warned you, this is what you voted for.” I don’t share that sentiment. So what if these folks voted for Trump and continue to support him? They don’t deserve to suffer or go hungry. Nobody does. I despise people who take pleasure out of the suffering of others.

This proposal has been offered by Lindsey Graham for several years. The main result is that it would allow insurance companies to jack up rates for pre-existing conditions.

My new 3 part solution to ending the shutdown: 1. The Nobel committee announces immediately that Trump will be the recipient of next year’s peace prize; it’s already been decided, and that it was a unanimous decision, first time ever. 2. The Washington Commanders announce that the new stadium will be named Trump stadium. 3. The SNAP program will be renamed the “Trump SNAP Program”. If we can get these all done the shutdown will be over in a matter of minutes.

They are using the mention of Argentina to avoid having to defend the real issue here: that Trump is purposefully withholding SNAP funds because he believes it will punish Democrats and force them to surrender on the shutdown.

I would like one of the many Trump supporters in this forum to offer a serious defense of what the administration is doing, right now, in real time, to hold back on sending SNAP payments. Not only are the optics terrible (perhaps the worst ever optics for a President in my lifetime) it seems morally wrong to withhold funds for this program so long as the money remains available. But go ahead please defend this if you can.

I love both. I think the Stones are slightly better but probably enjoy the Beatles a little more. So it’s a toss up.

Nuremberg was very good but not great. I feel like the courtroom scenes could have been more dramatic than they were. Overall I give the movie a B. Russell Crowe, however. , gave an Oscar worthy performance IMO.
