I would think this is the most important reason. Canadians continue to boycott us among others. It’s simply amazing to me how much damage Donald Trump has done to our economy.

It’s insanity. I was just hearing about this. This situation for our soybean farmers is devastating. What a disaster.

History suggests the opposite. But we are in unprecedented times. This is great news. Let’s see if it lasts.

It’s really not what you think. Most voters couldn’t tell you want communism or socialism means. (Most people here don’t know the difference between the two- apparently you don’t either since you seem to think (a) Mamdami is a Communist and (b) Mamdami will bring Communism to NYC, both of which are laughable assertions.) Mamdami is a moderate socialist. I use the word moderate because he doesn’t even endorse most socialist ideas, only a few. Of the ideas he DOES endorse, most of those he has no power as mayor to make happen. And he’s not winning because of his ideas. He’s winning because he says he wants to lower prices, he’s young, charismatic, appealing, and he opposes Trump. Of these the “lower prices” is by far the most important.

What they say and what they actually do are two very different things. Naturally they don’t want Mamdami to win so they are making dire warnings right now. But I suspect that if Mamdami wins they will find a way to work with him. Nobody is going anywhere.

I have nothing against young coaches or young executives. Just don’t be an a$$hole when you’re dealing with veterans in any field. So far as I know, McVey wasn’t one. Kiffin was. Hegseth is.

Back in 2007 Al Davis (who had a lot of similarities in personality to Donald Trump IMO) hired 31 year old Lane Kiffin to be the new head coach of the Oakland Raiders. Kiffin, who had never played football on any significant level, tried to immediately institute a bunch of changes to a veteran team who had no respect for him, and regarded him as an annoying little jerk. They did not respond well. Davis fired him soon after. Hegseth reminds me of poor little Lane.

Mamdami is not nearly the most socialist mayor NYC has had.

He would if he could enforce anything on that list. I don’t think he has the power to do any of that.

I think I am in favor of the Trump peace plan if I understand the details correctly. But I suspect that (a) Hamas will never accept it and (b) the only reason that Israel accepted it, for now, is because they know that Hamas never would.

Look I don’t care about this guy. I am opposed in principle to deporting anyone who is not a violent criminal but I can let that go with a guy like this if the info above is correct. He’s not a good guy. Will you acknowledge, based on your post, that there ARE good ones we should keep?

So incredibly sick of this argument. It’s not true, it’s never been true, and only very small minded people are worried about globalism.

Republicans will win this battle UNLESS- Trump starts firing federal employees. If he does that it could change views (not here; I get that people here may love that. But the American people may not.)

I’m betting the biggest problem the officers had today was staying awake.

So I sampled his music today…and I still don’t like it. But I LOVE his outspokenness about Trump, ICE, immigration, etc. So I hope he uses the halftime show to make a statement to the world about the terrible things our government is doing. It’s much needed.

It’s really sad that people just ignore this stuff. Or they say “well that’s just Trump.” So disgusting.

I didn’t go off on you; I used it as an argument to demonstrate that people ignore laws all the time. Had you been alive would you have supported the government enforcing the Trail of Tears? The Fugitive Slave Act? The imprisonment of all Japanese Americans on the west coast in 1942? These were all based on laws at the time.

There is no way that Democrats avoid taking the blame for this.

I still know nothing about this guy except what I’ve read here. If a lot of it is true he appears to be sketchy. Should probably lose his job if the reporting is accurate. But he still shouldn’t be deported. He’s not a violent criminal. Nobody who is not a violent criminal should be deported. Our current laws are wrong and immoral about this, they need to change.
