I can’t seem to get a clear answer on that, but it sure sounds like no. Which means there was no point to this entire endeavor. But at least it looks to be over.

This is insanity. During 1/6 hundreds of folks, encouraged by Trump, violently assaulted Capitol Police, broke into the Capitol, pissed and defecated on the floor. In this instance someone is accused of shoving an officer, it’s denied and there is no evidence. How can it be the same or worse? If you truly believe this you’re not a serious person.

Please show me members of Congress assaulting law enforcement in this instance.

And again this is really dumb response. I don’t care what source @squistion used, or what format; I care what point was being made. The point here was that if Trump offers a “total reset” on the tariffs he unilaterally imposed, then he’s basically caving, as many of us predicted he would. If you disagree with this analysis, offer a rebuttal. Personally I think it makes a lot of sense. But if you disagree, come up with a thoughtful response. Unlike some others around here (like the idiot I just responded to) I sense you’re capable of it at times. But don’t just attack the format. It’s dumb.

Total reset? If that means lowering tariffs back to before Liberation Day I will be very much relieved. But I’m skeptical because Trump touted the UK deal and it actually made things worse by nearly tripling tariffs on most items. But I will try to keep an open mind nonetheless: IF this is an actual deal (to be ratified by Congress) IF the deal not only relieves the current situation but involves China actually lowering tariffs they previously had on our products prior to Liberation Day, then that will IMO be a win for the USA and for Trump. Whether or not it’s worth the pain American consumers are about to suffer over the next few months that is already too late to fix will be an open question. And those are two pretty big ifs. Color me skeptical.

I see your memory on this is poor so let me correct you: Trump only gave arms to Ukraine after Congress voted to do so, and only after he tried to hold up the arms and blackmail Zelensky to produce false information about Biden- for which Trump was rightfully impeached (and inexcusably not removed by the Senate.) Only after being caught by a whistleblower did Trump actually release the arms. HTH

Obviously I’m a huge critic of Trump (and will remain so) but I do think this is generally true and I’ve tried to give him credit for it when it’s due, as it appears to be this morning. The problem is that sometimes war can be necessary. In the case of Ukraine they’re defending themselves against a ruthless aggressor. I’m not sure Trump understands that.

If reports are true, President Trump deserves credit this morning for talking India and Pakistan into a ceasefire. Well done.
