Fine it was hyperbole. I’m sure there are still good guys within ICE trying to do their jobs. I went too far suggesting otherwise. Mea culpa. But Homan is a thug. And he and Trump have thugs running things there now. And they lied in this case, and in the Abrego Garcia case, and they’re behaving badly as an organization and not the way decent Americans should expect government agencies to behave. Hopefully you will acknowledge this.

Sounds like the mayor was NOT trespassing. He was outside, and was not asked to leave. So more lies; typical ICE bullsh!t. @jerryskids when you say I am full of hyperbole, I really don’t think you have any concept what thugs ICE has become under Trump and Homan.

You accuse me of ridiculous hyperbole and yet I’ve never seen you criticize or even note the fact that whenever Trump references undocumented immigrants over the last ten years, from his very first speech after coming up the escalator, he has referred to them as violent racists and murderers. I assume you that I am the opposite of hyperbole on this subject, and I very much stand by the posts you bolded. When I see you and others refrain from the collectivization of mostly good and innocent people, when you stop the dehumanization process which is frankly evil and unfortunately the main attitude of modern day conservatives on this subject, maybe then I’ll let you lecture me on what is and what is not serious, and what is and what is not hyperbole. What are you talking about? What does the timing have to do with it? ICE claims everyone they arrest is a violent criminal. They rarely if ever prove it before a court of law. That’s because they’re lying thugs. It’s embarrassing for you that you use them to make your points. It’s even more embarrassing that you support them. But that’s on you man. You’re right though. I don’t think that lawful gun owners should be unnecessarily burdened because of the actions of a few people. I do favor some gun regulations but not any that would burden lawful gun owners.

Sure; here is my simple layman’s understanding. When the state arrests or detains anyone in this country that person has the right to go before a judge and argue as to why he or she should not be detained. There are no exceptions to this rule (both Lincoln and FDR claimed exception during time of war but I believe they were wrong.) Hows that? So far as I know the Supreme Court agrees with me (at least, they do in the case of Abrego Garcia, is my understanding). Please forgive me if I missed anything important- I didn’t find that somewhere or copy or paste anything- that is my own understanding in my own words. ETA as to the specifics you asked me to include, I don’t know. I’m sure there are different levels of due process but I don’t know the specifics off the top of my head. In this case (Abrego Garcia) it’s pretty simple, at least to me- prior to his deportation he had the right to go before a judge and argue as to why he should not have been deported. He was not afforded that right.

They should have been. I would not have let anyone in without that requirement. If that happened it’s up to the Biden folks to explain not me.
