Tony I figure these tariffs are right in your wheelhouse since you have acknowledged many times that you dgaf about the public and wouldn’t mind seeing them suffer. So this is your dream scenario right?

I understand exactly why he’s doing this. Because he honestly believes that tariffs are good and will achieve a positive result. He thinks the other countries will pay the fees and won’t pass them on to American consumers. He’s totally wrong about this. It’s YOU and others who either don’t understand or won’t admit that you do. Thats why you guys keep implying there’s some secret plan here. Because you know how terrible this is going to be. But guess what? There is no secret plan. There is only a stupid little doofus in charge and all of you voted for him. Congrats?

And don’t try to lay this on Democrats. We could have put up a turnip and it would have been a better choice than Trump. This is on you and anyone who voted for this guy. You broke it you own it.

Hey I can’t stop it. I can only comment. But I strongly doubt this is what the people wanted. I know he talked about it, and that Democrats warned of the consequences, but voters were not paying attention to this issue. They elected Trump to bring prices down and to control the border better. This is going to raise prices.

You mean a trade deal better than the one he negotiated after tearing up NAFTA? The one he called the greatest deal ever? You and others keep assuming that he’s doing this to achieve some negotiating goal. Honestly I had hoped that was the case. But according to the reporting, Canada and Mexico sent trade negotiators to Washington a few weeks ago and asked the White House what if anything they could do to avoid this: they were willing to make huge concessions. They were told there was nothing they could do because Trump had his heart set in imposing these tariffs. This is what he wants.

What does any of this have to do with these tariffs. Just for once can’t you put aside the partisan crap and Biden? The only question is will these tariffs be good for us or not? Forget about whether you think Trump is a good or bad President in other areas and focus on this decision.

Trump: “These tariffs will remain in effect until fetanyl and illegal immigrants stop hurting our country.” Very specific goals there…

Those crazy libs at the Wall Street Journal just called this “the dumbest trade war in history.”

The executive orders Trump signed have provisions to retaliate with even higher tariffs if Canada, Mexico and China dare respond with tariffs of their own- as they are almost sure to do. Welcome to the trade war.

It will be weeks or even more likely months before we see the effect on the consumer. During that time, expect the Maga fans here and elsewhere saying stuff like “what’s the big deal?” and calling those of us concerned about this “Chicken Little.”

It’s not my opinion. It’s the vast majority of health experts. Just as with climate change there’s always a few that disagree; my usual assumption is that it’s for publicity.

Thankfully this isn’t up to you, or President Trump.

At this point I’m having trouble not seeing anti-trans rants as a mental illness. The obsession you guys have with this is truly disturbing.

But that’s not what I wrote nor implied. It’s never OK to investigate or prosecute anyone for political reasons.

I didn’t criticize Biden because Trump’s policies were inhumane and I’m glad Biden rescinded them. If given a choice between Trump’s policies and a crowd at the border, give me the crowd. I’m not willing to solve the problem the way Trump wants to. But it IS a problem (or was for a while) and Biden deserves criticism for ignoring it. None of this has anything to do with my current objections which I stated in my previous post. And I couldn’t care less about taking credit. I’m not a politician. Most of the time I’m glad whenever I turn out to be wrong because lately I see a lot of bad times ahead.

We’re not continuing down any pathway. This would be the first time in a long while we stepped on it (since the McCarthy era.) Let’s be very clear: all of this “retribution” stuff that Trump and his minions are pulling isn’t retribution at all, because the all of the various prosecutions against Trump were perfectly legitimate and warranted. If the Republicans are stupid enough to go down this path they will be the first ones to do so. The Biden folks did nothing wrong in this regard.

Amusing. But no it doesn’t help me understand, because I have no problem securing the border. I have no problem criticizing Biden for NOT securing the border. And I have no problem deporting bad individuals like violent criminals. I have a problem with the proposed forced mass deportation of the millions of undocumented people here who are not violent criminals. I think it’s unworkable, morally wrong to even attempt it, and also it hurts this country greatly to even attempt it as we will soon find out. You haven’t offered a reasonable rebuttal to any of these positions. Until you do, perhaps it would be wiser of you to refrain from calling anyone else a fool.
