This is simply not true. I don’t believe that anyone should be allowed to cross the border illegally. I would change the law if I could, and I would offer a different form of punishment. But the ends never justify the means. I believe it’s OK to break the law when obeying the law is clearly immoral, but in that instance the means aren’t being justified by the ends.

You remind me a bit of my late father, who could never understand why I was upset over the Ruby Ridge shootout in the 90s. My dad would argue: “the guy was a Nazi, an anti-Semite, a white supremacist. Why should I care about him?” I replied because the FBI trespassed without a warrant and shot him. The ends never justifies the means. Not then, not now.

What does this have to do with due process?

All I’m asking is for evidence that any deportations were done without due process. Should be easy for you to provide.

I’m guessing nowhere since there’s no record of Obama deporting anyone without due process? Unless you have a link that reports otherwise? Why do you keep making these wild assertions without any link to back them up? (Note- it wouldn’t shock me if there is a case somewhere of Obama deporting somebody without proper due process. If that happened, it’s worth condemning. All administrations make mistakes, and almost all do bad things from time to time. What makes the Trump people so uniquely awful in this instance is that they not only refuse to do anything about it, they are actually gloating about breaking the law.)

I haven’t seen any information that this guy is a gang member, I also haven’t seen any information that he’s a bad person, other than the testimony of the discredited police officer. Several people here have posted that there is new damning info out there but have failed to link any of it. In any event all of this is irrelevant to the main issue which is that this guy never received due process. I will repeat what I wrote before: I don’t care if the dude is a combination of Ted Bundy and Charles Manson; he needs to be returned to the USA because he was sent away without due process. Full stop.

That’s contempt of Congress. Totally different. Contempt of court is far more serious.

Liberals have no problem with legality. It’s conservatives that seem to have a problem with it on a regular basis. First they were OK with police being violently attacked at the U.S. Capitol. Next they voted for a convicted felon to be President of the United States. Now they approve when that same felon continually violates the laws and the Constitution; they cheer him on. Conservatives obviously have no respect for our laws.

High time. Put Tom Homan behind bars.

He has but he also spends most of his time trying to offer a legal defense for Trump’s actions, so I suspect he really does care.

This is actually the MAGA argument. They don’t care that the law is being broken because they like the result. Certain posters like @RaiderHaters Revenge and @Strike won’t admit this. They are trying to argue that the laws actually DO allow for the Trump administration to do what they did here,. But they are failing badly, proven wrong at every turn, because it’s an unsustainable argument. Other posters like @jbycho are more honest: they simply believe the ends justifies the means and say so. They have no problem with Trump trying to impose an authoritarian dictatorship: that’s what they want.

I think some of these pro-Hamas protestors have made absolute fools of themselves. But that’s their right so long as they’re peaceful. Obviously they don’t have the right to be violent, or to harass Jews or students who disagree with them. To the issue at hand I think the Trump Administration is cynically using the issue of anti-semitism in order to attack the independence of universities as they stand in the way of the authoritarian dictatorship that Trump seeks to impose on this country. Following the pattern of Orban, Erdogan and other strong men, he is attempting to weaken the press, law firms, the courts, universities. All part of the plan. I’m glad Harvard is standing up to this,

The law is the law. We need to do everything we can to get him back. If El Salvador doesn’t agree, cut off their aid. They’ll agree quickly, Honestly you’ve been embarrassing yourself all day with your arguments on this issue. You’re just completely wrong; so is the Trump Administration, but they know they’re wrong.
