    Mass Deportation

I’ve been listening to some ACLU lawyers tonight. They are fighting the good fight (they are practically the only ones who are.) They are holding meetings telling these poor migrants who to call, what to do when and if ICE come knocking on their doors. The bastards won’t be able to deport even 5% of the folks they’re talking about, but they are creating terror in the migrant community which is absolutely shameful. Really cheering on the ACLU here.

    Laken Riley Act

Nope I expect it. He’ll lose there too. All this stuff is for show. It’s all performative to make you happy. When we look back at this in couple of years, the statistics will show you that (a) there won’t be significantly less undocumented immigrants here than there are now. (b) there won’t be significantly less violent crime here than there is now. And then maybe you’ll realize that you and most of the others here were duped; it was all a clown show that you fell for. But I doubt you’ll ever acknowledge it.

    Laken Riley Act

They understand. They would like to believe that it doesn’t protect non-citizens. They are wrong and the Supreme Court has ruled on this matter: https://scholarship.law.georgetown.edu/facpub/297/ I haven’t read the language of the Laken Riley act so I have no idea if it violates due process. If it does I assume it will be challenged and hopefully thrown out.

No you’re being a reasonable person who isn’t behaving impulsively (in this instance.) You are definitely NOT the Prez. One of the non-ideological, non political reasons I didn’t vote for Trump is because he’s so chaotic. He constantly pulls this crap because he loves to be in the spotlight; I swear that is his #1 motivation always. He’s the most ubiquitous politician we’ve ever had; it’s exhausting. It’s going to be like this for 4 years. We’re only a week in. Most liberals and conservatives I know, despite our differences, have one thing in common: we want our politicians to do their jobs and leave us the fock alone most of the time. We want to live our lives, enjoy our lives, without the constant headlines and chaos. This is even true of political junkies like me.

So now Jerome Powell is a partisan hack? Who appointed him?

We can tell the ones that care because they’re the ones that respond to him.

Dear Woke People: You Can Stop Misusing the Word "Fascist"

Can we come up with a new word for “wannabe fascist but too much of a pu$$y to actually do it?” lolololol

Trump: I DEMAND you lower rates! Jerome Powell: I don’t think so. The alpha strikes again!

    White House Freezes Spending

I already told you. He wants to but he doesn’t have the guts for it. You and all the Republicans surrendered to him; the rest of us aren’t going to. The minute the guy faces any resistance he folds like a cheap suit.

He’s up there right now repeating the condom lie.

And now she has just sent out a memo denying that the rescind was actually a rescind. You can’t make this up.

Sure seems like you’re the triggered one, not me. Your guy surrendered and this is your response? Lololol

Karoline Leavitt Eviscerates Enemy of the State Reporter

Took less than 24 hours and she already looks like a fool as Trump reverses everything she said yesterday. Who would want this job?

    The lightning move toward autocracy

Don’t need to rank them. All I need to know is that the list doesn’t include the current guy.
  15. The Real timschochet

Looks like the tush push is starting to lose it's effectiveness.

Two words: Jason Kelce. Hall of fame center who perfected it. Doesn’t work as well with anyone else.

    The lightning move toward autocracy

@TrailGuy this is why I don’t worry so much about Trump the authoritarian: because he’s such a wussy: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna189852 As I pointed out in the other thread, Trump surrenders more than a World War II French general. The guy just doesn’t have the stones to be a Mussolini, much less a Hitler. He is the least alpha President we have ever had.

    Mass Deportation

This is not historically accurate. It was the unions that busted the practice you’re talking about, not the government. Minimum wage came along as a reaction from the government to Union victories that were already taking place.

    White House Freezes Spending

This is why I wrote that Trump is an authoritarian wannabe but no Hitler. Because frankly he doesn’t have the balls. The minute he faces the slightest opposition from the public he backs down. That was the story of his last Presidency and it’s the story of this one. Remember how last time he tried to shut down the government and then surrendered to Pelosi? Trump surrenders more than a French general. That’s your alpha.

Of course. Its not a huge issue though. The market adjusts for it one way or the other.

He does. Trump surrenders: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna189852 lololol

Then let me make it real simple for you: I am a capitalist. I believe, as much as possible, in unfettered free market capitalism, because it is both the most effective system and because it’s morally right. Socialism is well meaning but doesn’t work; Communism is evil. All of my stances on immigration, trade, minimum wage, etc., are rooted in this conviction.

    White House Freezes Spending

These arguments are really stupid. Look if you think the condom thing is real then offer some evidence that it’s real. Some kind of confirmation, something. They didn’t.
  23. The Real timschochet

    Mass Deportation

You just realized that, Captain Oblivious?
  24. The Real timschochet

    Mass Deportation

I do want to stress though that just because I personally don’t pay undocumented people “under the table”, or below minimum wage, doesn’t mean I see anything wrong with either. If I was in certain businesses, such as roofing, flooring, general contractor, restaurants, etc., then of course I would hire these folks and pay them in cash. How else would I stay competitive? This is why I continue to assert that there is not a single person reading this that doesn’t benefit greatly from the presence of undocumented immigrants in this country. If you don’t think you do then you’re just lying to yourself.
  25. The Real timschochet

    Mass Deportation

OK this is wrong on so many levels that I feel I must explain further, so here goes. The ONLY time that I ever hire people I assume to be undocumented (I don’t ask) is once or twice a year. Let’s say somebody dumps a bunch of crap in the alley at one of the centers I manage. Usually it’s furniture like an old sofa. So I drive to Home Depot a few blocks away, find a couple of guys with a truck, ask them to follow me. When we get to my center I tell them I want the sofa removed. One of them looks at it and says “$100”. That’s about what I figured. I pay the guy out of my wallet. I don’t ask for anyone’s permission. Ten minutes later the sofa is gone. You do the math on how much I paid him per hour. Now in legal terms I have hired an independent contractor. So long as I don’t pay him in excess of $600 per year, I don’t have to report it. Since I only do this sort of thing a few times a year and I don’t think I’ve ever used the same guy twice, it’s never been an issue. Hopefully this explains everything. Those of you who called me a liar can now kindly fock off.
