If Trump avoids all new wars during his term I will certainly applaud him for that. But declaring the Mexican cartels as terrorists and pledging to take back the Panama Canal seem inconsistent with that goal.

Also the pride you take in never suggesting people should ignore legislation is really dumb. If a law seems immoral to me I’m not gonna obey if possible. Yes I understand you think that the system is abused. I still don’t understand how removing it benefits us. And yes of course they pay taxes. They would pay a lot more taxes if the parents were given legal status. Isn’t that the better solution?

You didn’t answer the question. @RLLD stated that by removing birthright citizenship, President Trump is trying to make things better for the American people. He also stated that liberals fighting to retain birthright citizenship are doing so because they want the American people to suffer. I would like an explanation of both assertions.

I don’t think conservative thinking is authoritarian; YOU do. You and people like you have distorted what conservatism means in the age of Trump. Do you really believe guys like Barry Goldwater or Ronald Reagan would have had anything whatsoever to do with Donald Trump? Think again.

For example on woke: yesterday Trump signed an executive order declaring two genders only, male and female. I’ve already read that the effect of this could prevent transgender Americans traveling outside the USA from returning; they may be detained at airports, etc. Now I’ve never really been into the whole “they/them” thing; it seems silly to me. I don’t personally know any transgender people. I’ve run into a few at times, but never really talked to one. I think it’s pretty weird. But the libertarian in me asks: “why is this the government’s business? Why is it Trump’s business?” If you guys want to restrict children under 18 from having operations I get that. I might want to leave it up to the parents but I get that society should try to protect children. If you guys want to make restrictions on girls athletics with regard to this issue I get that as well, and wouldn’t be opposed. But otherwise leave these folks the fock alone!! Is that woke? Seems more like decency to me.

This is also wrong. I believe in capitalism; fixing wages doesn’t work as it creates a black market (go to any restaurant in America and you will discover this.) But I’m pretty generous with those who work for me.
