She and millions of other undocumented people do this and it helps keep SS afloat so that you can be paid and the whole system doesn’t go insolvent. Even more broadly, undocumented immigrants work for lower wages and keep prices low for us, particularly in agriculture and at restaurants. This doesn’t apply to her specifically but to undocumented people in general.

It’s the other way around. You’re living off her, and millions like her. If I had to deport someone I would choose to deport you over her.

Two more folks here rooting for no due process. This is how we do away with the Constitution: public sentiment. How long before Trump proposes an Enabling Act? Sounds like many here will cheer him on.

@Strike’s justification for deporting her is that she committed a felony. If that is the case then she should get a trial. In any case you’re wrong: due process is necessary for deportation or incarceration.

No. I’ve described what I do and that’s not it. I feel the way I do on this issue not for selfish reasons but because it’s part of my political philosophy, and one of my core beliefs.

With a felony? Fine. Let’s have a court trial. If she’s found guilty she can be deported.

Not stupid. Incredibly courageous. She fought for the rights of others at tremendous risk to herself. Exactly the sort of person I want here.

Then take her to court and prove identity theft. Due process. If she committed a felony she can be deported. But you need to prove it.

It’s neither fair nor unfair to them. What’s unfair to them is when Trump cancels their visas (see the Afghan refugees, and refugees around the world.) They don’t care about this woman, they care about Trump shutting down legal entry.

First off you don’t know that it was stolen. More likely she made it up. Though I don’t know either. Second, the answer is no I don’t. I’m skeptical that in this instance there would be any problems. But if there are, fine her. Give her some huge penalty. Do not deport her, ever. It’s wrong.

Her kids are citizens. And yes we benefit from their education. And yes her presence here benefits us.

Non violent undocumented people should be allowed to stay in this country. Particularly parents of citizens.

We’re not rewarding fraud. We’re being rewarded by the fraud.

Those of you cheering this on: recognize that this story, no matter how you feel about it, is national news. Then ask yourselves if it’s truly possible that we’re going to deport 10-15 million people. It’s never ever going to happen. I will repeat what I have written several times now: at the end of Trump’s term there will be more undocumented immigrants in this country than there are now.

This is wrong. It’s exactly why I DIDN’T vote for Trump. It’s immoral and un-American to deport this woman IMO.

They pull the same crap with Middle East discussions. No matter how many times I wrote that Hamas is a terrorist organization and every member of it needs to die, the minute I criticize Netanyahu I’m suddenly Hamas’ biggest fan. They’re incapable of nuance.
