Much ado about nothing. Yes I am a fan though I’ve come to reject her political views. But I still very much agree with her core beliefs about individualism and capitalism. Which is why it amuses me so much when people here accuse me of being a socialist.

I’m sure what you witnessed was real. It was also anecdotal. Statistically the facts tell us otherwise: DEI is NOT bringing about incompetence in the corporate workplace nor has it helped much with diversity- Fortune 500s remain largely lily white and male dominated. Nor are white people being discriminated against in statistical numbers. Anyone can come up with anecdotes and shout “unfair!” I myself am opposed to DEI for this reason. But while people are NOT being discriminated against in our society and they’re NOT victims of racism.

Weren’t you the one who referred to Elon Musk as a libertarian yesterday? That is certainly Orwellian. Libertarians don’t usually take billions of dollars of welfare money from the United States government. Have you ever read Atlas Shrugged? The character that Musk most resembles is Orren Boyle.

The biggest lie of all, which is one that Republicans have been telling for years, and which Trump has doubled and tripled down on, is that you can balance the budget and reduce the debt by cutting waste, fraud and abuse, and cut taxes. It can’t be done. At some point you have to cut defense, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. That’s 86% of the budget. This whole business is a fraud. It’s bogus. Maybe someday the public will realize this.

The ideology, and the rejection of reality, is yours my friend. Not mine.

Here are a couple more true things revealed along with all of the lies: 1. We are definitely cutting the Environmental Protection Agency by 60% at a time when climate change threatens us more than ever. 2. We are definitely cutting the Center for Disease Control by 30-50% at a time when pandemics threaten us more than ever. Good times ahead!

Watching Trump’s press conference, it’s hard to believe how many outright lies he is telling. All Presidents exaggerate and stretch the truth but no one until this man says the opposite of the truth with such consistency. For example he says Biden gave 360 billion to Ukraine and got none of it back. Actually we have spent 180 billion and gotten almost all of it back because it mostly went to our defense industries. Trump has been told this over and over and yet he continues to repeat the lie. He and Musk say they’ve saved billions and billions of dollars and it will soon approach a trillion. It’s doubtful that they’ve even saved a billion dollars and the new tax cuts will increase the debt by several trillion. Just lie after lie after lie. But on the other hand when he says the tariffs are coming on April 2, I believe him.

The left didn’t feed me that. Reality did.

Hey man I’m sorry that I’m forced to contradict all the right wing garbage you’ve been fed for years or decades now. I don’t expect to remove your brainwashing; I know it’s heavily ingrained. But I will try anyhow: you’re not a victim. As a white person it’s almost impossible for you to be a target of racism. You have privilege that gives you major advantages over people of color in this society. That’s the reality. What you’ve been told is bullsh!t. Sorry about that.

That’s not a racist comment. If a white person on TV said “spare us your black boy tears” that WOULD be a racist comment. There is a double standard here which is absolutely justified.

No she is neither disgusting nor racist. But I think part of our disagreement is that we have a different definition of racism.

These sort of boycotts never work. Targeted boycotts don’t work either for the most part. If liberals don’t like the way things are going they need to show up for elections. Those on my side didn’t show up last time around, not enough, and now we have to pay the price. It’s that’s simple. In the meantime the town halls are probably the most effective way to express discontent and perhaps give some of the Republicans pause. But it’s not going to be that effective either. For the most part we need to take our lumps and wait.

First off the ratings on every MSNBC show fell after the election, I suspect largely due to exhaustion. They’re starting to rise again. I doubt that Reid’s show was a particular problem for the network. Second: I have read the article you linked and other articles critical of Joy Reid. She is very provocative and over the top. She is, IMO, neither repugnant nor racist.

Yeah they keep referencing this one poll, Harvard Caps. It’s an outlier; virtually every other poll is moving in the opposite direction. And the tariffs haven’t even kicked in yet.

We support human rights around the world. Or at least we used to when we were the good guys.

Most maga women are ugly. I was banned once for saying that but I’ll repeat it here. Liberal women are mostly gorgeous.
