I challenged you before to provide evidence that he’s anti-American. Still waiting on that. -

I’d sure like to know what it is you “read up”. I’ve posted this before: https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/uploads/fa141f34-3f1e-43b3-ac95-eff80f39cdc8/george-soros-and-the-fall-of-communism-in-europe-20191106.pdf which is why I didn’t feel the need to do so again. Basically Soros heavily funded anti-Communist movements, particularly in his home country of Hungary, beginning in the early 80s, which contributed significantly to the liberation that took place there in 1989. I was just in Budapest and unfortunately there is no monument to Soros there, probably because he is anti-nationalist, an opponent of Viktor Orban (as any decent person should be) and a Jew. -
Tell you what: provide a link of one of your posts in which you offered a coherent thoughtful opinion on any subject, and then maybe I’ll take you seriously. Go ahead. I only need one.

He’s certainly a globalist if that’s what you mean. I am too. It’s a good thing to be. -

This thread is a testimony to the misinformation spread from the right wing media. Almost everything that conservatives here have stated about Soros is a lie: he never said he hated America (he certainly doesn’t); he wasn’t a Nazi collaborator (he lost most of his family in the death camps). If you are a conservative it’s reasonable to oppose Soros’ views and the fact that he gives a lot of money to supporting Democrats. But a lot of the hatred against him positively reeks of anti-semitism- the idea that he is part of a shadowy cabal that controls events. And BTW that is not a conservative thing. The same vicious tropes used against Soros were also used against the late Sheldon Adelson, a billionaire Jew who supported Trump and right wing causes. Left wing anti-Semites, including Congresswoman Talib from Minnesota, used the exact same language about Adelson, that he was part of a shadowy Jewish cabal, etc. Same exact pattern. -

Sure. I already mentioned his major contribution to bringing down the Soviet Union. That was incredibly beneficial to this country. Beyond that he has given or raised an amazing 32 billion to charities all over the world, including the USA, feeding hungry people, supporting education and public health. -
I don’t want to force anyone to silence you. If somebody tried I would gladly fight on your behalf for your right to say what you want. I wish people would condemn and ignore you of their own accord. Thats what you don’t understand about free speech. You also have no understanding about Jews and Israel. As many who read me here are aware I am not exactly a supporter of the current government of Israel. But you appear to be incapable of considering Jews as individuals rather than a group, with individual opinions and goals. That’s part of the disease of anti-Semitism. I hope someday you’re cured of it.
-
I don’t want anyone to hate you. That’s your shtick, getting people to hate, not mine. I wish people would condemn your words and then ignore you. Other than that, I feel sorry for you. I don’t know under what circumstances you became deluded and filled with bigotry but they probably weren’t pretty. I hope you educate yourself and otherwise seek some help. As to your “facts”, pinning all of America’s problems on Jewish ownership and/or control of our institutions- they are so obviously bullsh!t to any reasonable person that they’re not worth exploring.

Soros certainly deserves it for his contributions 35 years ago to free Eastern Europe from Communism. Outside of Ronald Reagan no American may be more responsible. -

Pretty good opinion piece: https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2025/01/05/trump-presidential-election-certification-embrace-stupidity/77409672007/ Trump has made stupidity and incompetence acceptable. Our society needs to reverse this trend. -
These ignorant and hateful comments don’t offend me nearly as much as the fact that no one here has condemned them. I don’t believe that most of the posters here are anti-Semitic, so I don’t understand why you tolerate this guy and treat him like he’s a normal person to have a conversation with.

Here are several more really good arguments as to why it is beneficial to our society to give drivers licenses to undocumented immigrants: https://www.cliniclegal.org/resources/state-and-local/why-states-should-grant-drivers-license-all-residents
-
And here we go again. I have made a serious argument in this thread. You’re welcome to disagree with it (I’m quite sure most people here do.) But rather than try to rebut my points you personalize things and wish me ill will as you have done many times before. Your caveat is meaningless.
-
A bit beneath you to try to win arguments this way, but OK I’ll rephrase: there are not enough undocumented immigrants who care about voting to ever impact the outcome of an election.
-
I gave you very good arguments as to why we should do this. The only rebuttal I received, as usual, was the obstinate and childish “we need to deport them all!” which is never going to happen. We can’t have this discussion unless you guys accept that most if not all undocumented immigrants are here to stay.
-
They don’t care about voting.
-
It’s not realistic.
-
It’s not a question of what they deserve, it’s a question what is most beneficial for society.
-
You’ll see a show. In the end the numbers won’t change.
-
It’s funny because I have a very similar argument with some my liberal friends about guns. Some of them want to live in a country without any private ownership of guns, they want them all to be seized. Thats never going to happen. Neither is mass deportation. These are realities we have to live with.
-
Yeah I know. But this isn’t going to happen. That’s what you refuse to accept.
-
Giving them a license has no impact whatsoever on their status as an undocumented immigrant. If they commit a crime arrest them, punish them and deport them. I’m all for that. Licenses have nothing to do with it.
-
You guys also act like we’re doing some great favor by giving these guys licenses. We’re not. They’re going to drive anyhow. The only purpose of the license is to regulate it. It serves us not them. The story posted in the OP would have occurred whether the guy had a license or not.
-
The problem with most of you here is that you can’t get past the fact that these folks came here illegally. I get that, I really do. But they’re here now and we’re never going to deport them and so we have to deal with what makes the most sense- not for them but for the rest of us. My solution is to get them out of the shadows, into the system. Thats safer for all of us.
