I watch every UCLA football game, sometimes to my great regret. But it’s how I was raised. The offense was way worse this year. Running game in particular. It was dismal. Worst in years and the main reason they had a losing record. Eric seems like a nice guy but he had to go.

This is certainly not true in this forum.

Ex-WaPo reporter doubles down on post wanting health insurance executives dead: 'It's natural to wish'
The Real timschochet replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
More like killing cousins. Because as you should know from your history, whenever Communists take over power, the socialists (Social Democrats) like AOC are the first ones they eliminate. As far as socialism being a stepping stone towards Communism, again history doesn’t bear this out. To my knowledge there has never been a country run by socialists or social Democrats that transformed itself into a Communist country. Communism never emerges from popular vote; every Communist regime in world history emerged from violent revolution or outside invasion. Finally you should also be aware that the most pivotal moment to our victory in the Cold War against the USSR occurred when the Social Democrats of Berlin, with our assistance, stood up against the Communists who were trying to make them slaves. Those Berlin socialists, of whom AOC is an intellectual descendent, were the vanguard of human liberty against the oppressor. -

Look I’m not going to be naive and claim it’s all about altruism. But on the other hand I think your attitude, which is shared by many (perhaps even a majority) is a bit cynical. I think most politicians, like most people are generally honest sorts who want to to do what’s best for the public they represent based on their beliefs. I don’t think most of them are corrupt. There are plenty of exceptions. AOC has always struck me as a well-meaning socialist. She’s not a Communist, not evil. She would like to incorporate socialism into our free democracy, because she honestly believes it would make us a better society. She is wrong about that. She doesn’t recognize the value of the free market IMO and its relationship to the personal freedoms she rightfully espouses. With regard to those personal freedoms, and on woke issues, I generally find myself agreeing with her. -

No buts. That should have been the end of the post. -
Uh oh! Trump names David Sacks as his man in charge of Crypto. A JEW! @Cdub100 maybe you should think about bailing out now….

Dude it was Russia who encouraged it and the trafficking has gotten worse BECAUSE of the Russian invasion! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_trafficking_in_Ukraine If you want to truly stop trafficking in Ukraine, let them have a stable government free from invasion or its threat. Like most countries. But do you really care about this issue or is it just another bullsh!t excuse?

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency
The Real timschochet replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
Well then it’s a good thing Tommy was coaching back then isn’t it? Just let it go. You have no defense, no comeback. Tuberville is the biggest idiot ever in the Senate. You look like a moron trying to deny it. -
It’s amazing that you guys want to defend Russia here. I can see arguing that we shouldn’t help Ukraine, we need to be neutral, etc. (these are bad, dumb arguments but I can see it). But actually defending Putin and Russia in this war? CheerIng these murderers on? No different from cheering on Hamas. You guys are shameful. Seriously.

Both of them 5 times as smart as you, and 10 times as smart as Tommy. (See? I gave you a compliment for once.) -
This is amazing..and wrong..and a good indicator showing everything wrong with our government.

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency

US Senators competing with each other as to who can look more foolish: Lindsay Graham, that pillar of firm conviction, said yesterday that the accusations against Hegseth were “deeply concerning”. Today he says they “don’t count” because they’re all anonymous (they’re not.) Tommy Tuberville says there is no need for the Senate to vett Trump’s appointments because “Trump has already done it for us.” It’s impossible for me to believe that even a state like Alabama could elect a Senator as stupid as Tommy Tuberville. Democrats have had some pretty dumb politicians in the past- the late Sheila Jackson Lee comes to mind- but they usually do better when it comes to Senator. Tuberville, who was a pretty decent football coach (if a little one dimensional and old-fashioned) has got to be the dumbest Senator I’ve heard in my lifetime. -

I’m not OK with hiring less competent people. Please don’t put words in my mouth. The idea behind DEI is when making a choice between two equally qualified candidates select one that adds diversity. As I wrote I’m not in favor of this solution, but it does not result in hiring incompetent people. -

I wish your high school had been more representative of the entire country. Then we wouldn’t have had these problems. My own high school was 98% white, in Huntington Beach (Orange County.) I received a public school top level education. 30 minutes away, in North Long Beach, Compton, South Central, there were kids receiving an inferior education to mine. Books, facilities, teachers, none of it as good. And of course money doesn’t solve everthing. Of course parents are key. And if you come from a broken home or an abused childhood even an A+ school is unlikely to make a difference. I get all that. Still though the inequity does matter. I’ve been described here as a defender of DEI and I don’t even approve of it, because like Affirmative Action before it it attempts to address a problem at the end rather than the beginning. If you want equality of opportunity for all (and I think we all share that goal) then we have to provide equality of means which translates to education and community investment. DEI doesn’t really work, IMO. But again it’s a minor aspect of our culture and I’m sick of conservatives whining about it, the way you guys whine about undocumented immigrants and transsexuals as well. None of these are to blame for your problems in life. -

Dont even start with the “I’d rather planes crash” bullsh!t. The assumption that DEI leads to the hiring of people incompetent who are going to cause planes to crash is total crap. -

So sick of conservative whining about DEI. You guys are so lame. Here’s a hint: give minorities better education. Stop institutionalized racism. End white privilege. Then maybe we won’t need DEi. -
I’m listening. I don’t know enough about this topic to form an opinion. I’m trying to learn.

From a purely political viewpoint, I don’t think Biden should pardon any of these folks., if Trump actually orders his Justice Department to prosecute Fauci, or Schiff, or anyone else it’s just going to blow up in his face. There won’t be any convictions, and hopefully the public will be disgusted by the farce. Bring it on.

Congrats to those who have done well on this. But is it like a stock where you have to sell it to make money? Is now the time to sell or are you guys expecting it to keep going up?

Here come the tariffs
The Real timschochet replied to The Phantom's Phantom's topic in The Geek Club
Here is the libertarian solution: 1. No EV mandates. 2. No tariffs. See how simple that is? -
Sure! Has nothing to do with what you’re asking about but it’s my favorite from her latest album.
