It’s not going to happen, sorry. The guardrails (mainly the courts) are still there. Im concerned because Trump in this failed attempt is going to hurt a lot of people and I hate to see that. But it WILL fail.

They don’t like any of that, but they’d prefer you find a way to get rid of it without harming democracy.

You should be worried about people like @HotRod and other MAGA types who would prefer a strong man- if you truly care about democracy that is. But they won’t win.

No I don’t think the majority of Americans agree with you. Polls show that is NOT why they voted for Trump. In 4 years, perhaps 8 at most, a Democrat will be back in charge and undo most of what Trump is doing now. So I guess enjoy it while you can. But I have strong doubts you actually will.

I believe it was Winston Churchill who said that democracy is the worst form of government…except for all the others. Mussolini got the trains to run on time. Be careful what you guys wish for…

I did. Because I don’t like Trump. I wouldn’t boo him myself but I don’t mind when others do. Right now Trump is as popular as he’s ever been. Polls show 53% of Americans approve of him. I find that very depressing and hope it doesn’t last. So I’ll take any ray of sunshine when I can find it.

Now I feel bad. @HB Localboy is not a good poster and he was pretty rude to me, but $50k is a lot to lose.

It wasn’t quite 10%. And it was, in retrospect, some pretty dumb bets. I’ll own that. But I would never bet anything close to $50 grand on anything. I don’t think I would do it if I was a billionaire.

It’s a beautiful town. Green Burrito is now part of Carls Jr so it’s not that great, but there’s plenty of great Mexican close by. Main Street off the pier is full of great places to eat.

As I recall they arrested folks on both sides during those incidents. Plenty of racist skinheads too. I’m all for arresting anyone who starts violence.
