No they don’t. As I have told @jerryskids and others many times, if Republicans simply wanted to pass laws restricting gender surgery to 18 and over I think most Democrats could agree to that. Personally it’s not what I would prefer, because I don’t like the state involved in decisions made between doctors and parents when public health is not a factor. But it’s a compromise I’m willing to accept: restrictions to protect children, leave adults alone. But your side isn’t doing this. You are not leaving adults alone. Transgender adults are being persecuted. Excluded from the military. Forced to change passport status. Targets of ridicule and hate crimes. Singled out by the President and his supporters and made to feel like pariahs or outcasts. And it’s the Republicans doing this.

Look I don’t have any power to stop him from being President. Politics interest me so I will continue to discuss them when I can including here. But that’s all it is, a discussion. I’m not changing anything that’s happening. (I do try to change things in small ways: giving money to the ACLU, working with a refugee family)

Again we’re just discussing this for the sake of argument because I don’t concede that “the other guys” mentioned were in fact guilty of corruption. But let’s assume they are: You are correct that liberals only bring up this topic when it is conservatives who are accused of crimes, otherwise they avoid it. What you failed to mention is that conservatives only bring up this topic when it is liberals who are accused of crimes, otherwise they avoid it as well. Both sides are equally guilty of hypocrisy and a double standard. But that being said I don’t think the solution is ever to turn a blind eye to crimes of this nature. I will accept the charges of hypocrisy and still insist that if corruption occurs we need to at least try to stop it.

I don’t find this to be a compelling argument. As a kid when I got in trouble I would sometimes point to my older brother and say “he was doing it too!” That never worked. For good reason.

Biden made plenty of mistakes as President. So has Trump. Zelenskyy has as well. But the invasion of Ukraine was a great crime involving the murder of thousands of innocent men, women and children. The man responsible for that crime, its architect, is Vladimir Putin. Putting the blame on Biden or Trump or Zelenskyy is wrong as misguided because none of those three wanted this crime to happen. Putin did. Putin is an evil man, and he is responsible for these terrible events. I think it’s important to have moral clarity.

Sure., if that is the case. But I tried to watch those House hearings on Biden and Hunter as much as I could and they were, frankly, a joke. If there had been any real smoking gun they would have uncovered one there. But there wasn’t .

I have. The main problem with the accusation that Biden, as VP, was involved in some kind of corrupt scheme in Ukraine is that he was carrying out policy already dictated by the State Department.

I don’t agree. 1. I’ve studied the Adams situation and I believe, honestly, that he’s guilty, that the DOJ was correct to indict him, and that the current DOJ actions are corrupt. 2. I’ve studied the Biden situation and I believe, honestly, that he’s not guilty, that Congress was correct not to impeach him, that Biden’s DOJ did not act corruptly (unlike the current DOJ). These are my honest beliefs based on my analysis of the facts I’ve seen. Feel welome to disagree but please don’t accuse me of being dishonest simply because I don’t see things the way you do.

Yes. Climate change is the main reason, although that is not the only cause of economic instability. There’s also the fact that Latin America has had a 300 year history of unstable dictatorial regimes largely caused by our involvement and interference for immediate benefit. We reap what we sow.

At the end of Trump’s term there will be more undocumented immigrants in this country than at the start of Trump’s term. And then we will have some kind of amnesty. This is all for nothing.
