This was @Strike’s response to me yesterday when I commented that there were many reasons why a liberal would vote for the Democratic Party. But no he only cares about competence; this isn’t political for him. What a lying sack of sh!t

I wrote “implied” because it is. You only attack Democrats. If competence is all you care about then link to when you’ve ever attacked a conservative or Republican.

The Ninth Circuit is a federal court though. So once again, attacking Newsom for this would be unfounded.

You know I used to enjoy watching this fantasy football show with Eric Dickerson, because whatever projections he made about players that week, I could count on things going the other way. I knew if he advised starting somebody, that was the week to sit him down and start somebody else. You serve the same role for me here.

Yeah Biden is truly tone deaf. However he does not deliberately make cruel remarks, Trump does. Trump is not tone deaf; when he’s being an a$$hole he’s aware of it. For the most part Biden has acted Presidential here. He didn’t immediately respond to this crisis by attacking and blaming. We’re in for a long 4 years.

Of course they could have done more. Of course there were mistakes made, and incompetence, and of course life long politicians like Newsom and Bass are going try to cover their butts afterwards and try to paint things in the best possible light. What else is new? But guys like @Strike are taking all this to another level and attempting to make the argument that it is liberalism or the Democratic Party that is at fault, or woke ideology, or whatever. And they are further implying that if we only had conservatives and Republicans in charge a lot of this could have been prevented. I think that’s crap and I think it’s in really bad taste even to make the argument.

Thats a federal action based on what I read. Again I don’t have time to get into it, but I am highly skeptical of your assertion that liberal policies significantly contributed to this crisis.

Rick Caruso was a centrist Republican who, since Trump arrived, became a centrist Democrat. But his views haven’t really changed. He’s pro-business, socially liberal (but not leftist), anti- socialist, anti-populist.

Now my sister in law at Oak Park is being evacuated.

Even if you were correct about all of this (and I don’t have the time to argue whether you are or not) there’s a lot of reasons to vote for liberal Democrats if you yourself are a liberal Democrat, beyond the issues you mentioned.

Not on this topic because I don’t agree with most of the Democrat’s proposed solutions to climate change. Or the Republicans. I vote Democrat but not because of this issue.

Not sure much of this pertains to the Palisades fire in which I’m told controlled burns wouldn’t have made a significant difference. I’m also not sure what homelessness has to do with it though I’d love to solve that issue, we all would. How? As to the rest of your points, they’re interesting. I’ll have to defer to firefighters or those in the know as to whether or not we’re already doing a lot of this stuff or if it would make an impact. I’m not educated enough to speculate.

Yep. In my family only my conservative Republican Trump supporting in-laws lost their house. Too bad right? You were rooting for more. Could you be any worse?

Look the scientists tell me it’s never been this frequent or this bad. I believe them and pay attention. If that makes me a fraud in your eyes then so be it. But I don’t have any agenda here.

It’s 6:15 am. In one hour I head to work. Then I will be making calls to try to find an Airbnb for my in laws for a few months, right now they’re at my sister in law in Manhattan Beach but it’s too crowded there and I’m too far away in Orange County. Rest assured I’m on it, this is just killing time for me. But hey thanks for your concern!
