I don’t think it’s cool. I don’t think it’s something to celebrate. The explosions killed all sorts of civilians, including young children.

I already have. In the last two days I linked to polls showing Harris ahead in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Granted neither lead is comfortable but she IS ahead and if she wins either of those two states she pretty much wins the election. If you think she’s going to lose both of those it’s up to YOU to demonstrate why since the data is against you.

I have no such links. I have heard polling experts and various pollsters talk about this and argue that they are taking into account this time around. It is my estimation (what @Strike calls my intuition) that they are taking it into account too much. I actually think that it is the reverse of your theory- that in some rural and red areas you may be ostracized if you choose Kamala Harris. I believe this will show up in places like Pennsylvania and Georgia, just enough in red areas to allow her to win the states.

I’m not throwing blind darts here. I think my reasoning is sound. If you think I’m wrong tell me why.

Based on a couple of points: 1. The pollsters were upset that they were so incorrect about 2016 and 2020. This time I believe they’re overcompensating which they did in 2022. They’re worried about the “hidden Trump voter” so they’re including that number but Kamala is still ahead. 2. The pollsters are relying on what they call “likely voters” but this really discounts new voters particularly young ones. Call it the Taylor Swift effect. Thats my reasoning. I could be completely wrong; I certainly have been before.

OK. I actually think the polls are overestimating Trump this time, and really underestimating Harris. But we will learn shortly who is right.

The hypocrisy of Republicans blaming Democrats for this idiot while at the same time keeping silent as Trump and Vance spread lies about Hatian refugees which are already creating fear, hatred and death threats, is really shameful. I was going to write that it’s beyond belief, but while it should be it isn’t. The Republican Party has lost its collective mind. Hopefully after Trump loses it might get it back, but at this point I’m really not sure.

It didn’t prove otherwise. He was stopped by guardrails. He almost wasn’t. This time the guardrails will be a lot weaker.

But what caused these “low intelligence” people to accuse him? Why Trump and no other candidates?

New USA poll out tonight has Harris winning by 3 points in Pennsylvania. Thats within the margin of error, so still effectively a tie. But better than before for her, when she was a couple points down. If she wins North Carolina she won’t need Pennsylvania (but it’s likely if she wins North Carolina she’ll win Pennsylvania as well.)

Another thing @jerryskids should answer: why exactly was Trump asked this question in the first place? No other Presidential candidate, Republican or Democrat, has ever been asked about wanting to be a dictator. What is it about Trump that makes this a pertinent query?

Your analysis would be 100% except for the fact that there’s a larger context of Trump making months worth of statements about abrogating the Constitution, throwing his enemies in prison, calling for the executions of generals, admiring strongmen like Viktor Orban, curtailing the press, etc, etc., all of the actions of a would be dictator. In each case you can find excuses and justifications as you did here. But when you examine them all together it is a very troubling pattern which you really can’t ignore unless you are deliberately determined to do so (and it kind of appears that you are.)

They are. But no answers yet. I’ve been perusing talk radio. On the conservative stations, the thinking seems to be that the government is actively helping these individuals try to assassinate Donald Trump and that’s how this idiot knew where he’d be. Honestly that seems extremely unlikely to me. On the progressive stations, a lot of the thinking is that Trump planned this whole thing himself, was never in any danger, and THAT’S how this idiot knew where Trump would be. But that seems equally as unlikely to me, perhaps even more so. I really have trouble buying into these sorts of intricate plots no matter which side they’re from. And yet….I still don’t know how this guy knew where Trump would be. I can’t quite believe he simply guessed. So I’m stumped.

The head of the Secret Service said that this golf course was an unplanned visit for Donald Trump (he owns 3 courses in the area.) So how did the gunman, who reportedly hid in the bushes for 12 hours, know Trump was gonna be there? Did he just get incredibly lucky or did somebody tell him? I’m the last guy who buys into conspiracy theories, and I won’t buy into one here. But this doesn’t make any sense.
