  1. Are you seriously expecting violence today?
  2. Lakers are already without LeBron tonight. ….and they’re playing the Sacramento Kings!
  3. So the local protest is between 11:30 and 2. I have cleared my schedule and taking my family and a few friends.
  4. Yes I will be taking part in a local protest. Not sure for how long because I have an important meeting that day. But at some point I will be there. In addition I gave extra monies to the ACLU this month to help organize. (I always give them money but this time a little more.)
  5. Here are some modest proposals: 1. Stop arresting and detaining and deporting non-violent people. If they have no papers find a way to allow them to stay. 2. Stop demonizing trans people, especially young trans people. Their lives are hard enough as it is. Leave them alone. 3. Stop demonizing Muslim- Americans. They are no different from you. Let them live their lives. 4. Stop cheering for judicial lawfare. Force Trump to obey the law like all Presidents before him. Do these things and we’ll have no reason to protest.
  6. Again the irony here is incredible. Why are we protesting? Because Trump and his supporters are targeting innocent people as the source of America’s problems. When you guys stop, the protests will stop.
  7. And I would like you to reconsider your fear of undocumented immigrants, trans, Muslims. Unlike you I am not suggesting therapy to help with this. Just reconsider.
  8. True but not the next time around. It’s never too late to come over to the right side. I welcome all of these folks and all MAGA folks too who have changed their minds. Never too late.
  9. I’m glad you’re concerned about me. Does show a little empathy on your part, contradicting my last statement. You needn’t be worried though.
  10. It suddenly occurs to me with this post and that of @supermike80 is that once again I am running into the typical MAGA lack of empathy for others. You guys seem to lack comprehension that someone can be doing fine themselves but be worried about other people. Therefore he must be lying or ill or giving into “liberal guilt”. I feel sad for you guys that you think this way.
  11. I disagree with you because sometimes, not always, not always, public protests do lead to positive change. In the 1960s people peacefully protested against segregation, against the Vietnam War, for woman’s rights, for gay rights. And all of these protests were ultimately successful. We know that a majority of Americans now think Trump’s actions are awful per polling. So I am hoping that this latest protest will have a positive, meaningful effect. Of course I have no idea, you may be right: But I’m an optimist.
  12. Lol dude I’m not personally scared. I’m white, in a good income bracket. I’m financially secure and I live in the greatest state. My family is healthy (knock on wood) and in my personal life things have never been better. I just love my country and hate to see this guy screw it up. The good news is we can and will repair most of the damage,
  13. @supermike80we live in a time where innocent people, including hundreds of American citizens, are grabbed off the street and violently attacked by government forces. Where the Department of Justice for the first time in this country’s history is going after the President’s perceived enemies with false trumped up charges. Wake the Fock up already.
  14. What’s funny about this is my views are pretty mild compared to some including a majority of people here. President Trump is the fearmongerer. He’s the one that says that undocumented immigrants and trans people and Muslims are all a threat to the rest of us. That’s the crap you buy into. Me I’m just trying to fight against that thinking in my own peaceful way.
  15. OR we truly believe that Donald Trump is a true and unique threat to this country’s democratic institutions, not to be compared to Biden or any other past President.
  16. Though ultimately I disagree with you, I think this is a much stronger argument than “This is a Hate America rally run by Antifa” which the Republicans are going with, predicting violence, etc. That may seriously backfire.

Israel Gaza thread- is the peace agreement still in effect?

Not just believing but praising him to no end.

Stop killing civilians or we’ll bomb the crap out of your civilians! Makes sense.

Trump just now: “If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them!” https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115385030312911724 First question of many: who is “we”?

Sigh. Can I switch my vote?

Elections don’t work in an undeveloped society. We should have learned this by now but we don’t. 20 years ago we tried to force Iraq to have elections. The results were entirely predictable: Sunnis voted for the Sunnis, Shiites voted for the Shiites, and Kurds voted for the Kurds. And people were threatened and killed and the usual corruption, and those elected immediately tried to end all further elections. Free elections require years of an educated populace and western values (eg the rights and identity of the individual). Otherwise you’re wasting your time.

The public is encouraged to report all suspicious activity to ICE

Anyone else like ICE drinks? I’m kind of addicted to the fruit punch, grape raspberry, and cherry limeade flavors.

Disarming Hamas is an impossibility. About as likely as trying to disarm all citizens living in the state of Louisiana. Hamas offered to give up their long range missiles and heavy weapons, but not their small arms. Since I suspect they’re extremely low or completely out of the former anyhow, this isn’t real hardship for them. And I also suspect it will be accepted. The bigger quandary is this: who in their right mind is going to invest in rebuilding Gaza with Hamas still in place there having murdered all viable opposition? How is this peace supposed to proceed from here?
  24. It’s kind of boring, and I considered a lot of people, but in the end I once again have to go with @seafoam1. He posts as much or more as anyone here. Nearly all of his posts contain a personal or general insult; almost none of his posts contain any content worth discussion. Yes he is on the right and that may cause some of you to want to deny him this prize because he is on “your team”. But do you really want this guy on your team? I sure wouldn’t. Anyhow he gets my vote.
  25. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2025/10/11/immigration-crackdown-food-prices/ Well it’s not like anyone with common sense didn’t already know this. Entirely predictable.
