You guys certainly love to look back at my posts. I made hundreds of posts on that election. I thought Hillary would win and expressed it many times. I also expressed my fears that she would not many times. I thought, and I still do, that Hillary had a 75% chance of winning. But 25% seemed to me too large a number and that scared me. And that is what happened: Trump effectively came up with a straight flush. Could he do so again? Of course and this election as of now is much closer than that one was. But once again I think, at least for now, the odds favor the Democrat. And because I sense that Kamala is more of a movement candidate than Hillary I have less fears this time around.

According to the Washington Post last weekend, Kamala has a 3 point lead with RFK in the race and a 4 point lead with RFK out of the race. Oops.

I wasn’t confident at all in 2016. I knew that Hillary wasn’t popular at all so I was nervous as hell. If you don’t see the difference between then and now then you’re not very smart. I really do think Kamala Harris is going to win this election and pretty decisively. Of course I could be wrong and if I am, so be it. But the “honeymoon” isn’t over, in fact it’s just beginning. Her numbers are only going to get better and better. Get ready.

The number was intended to represent the point of view that very few people support him and his endorsement won’t make any difference. It was both humorous, and IMO true. But of course you’re welcome to disagree. But then you quoted 9% which is an absurd number and you did NOT use that percentage sarcastically. You meant it. Thats why it’s so ironic for you to call anyone else a moron. I don’t think we’re going have an election like 2000; I don’t think it will be anywhere as close. But if it is close, RFK Jr endorsing Trump will still not be important at all.

Well Trump regards the endorsements of Vlad Putin and Kim Jong Un as a badge of honor. Thats who he gets moist over (also, apparently, RFK Jr.)

According to the book Game Change it made a huge difference. Normally it makes no difference at all. But personally I believe that Taylor Swift is almost unique. I think she would make a difference.

Thats what the polls said a month ago. Now he’s at 3-4% in most states and even that is way overstated. I suspect it’s closer to 1%, and that 1% don’t give a crap about who he endorses. This will have no effect whatsoever on the race.

Trump has never endorsed Project 2025. I’m sure he’s never read it. Nonetheless, he has in the past few years endorsed nearly every idea that’s in it, praised the Heritage Foundation for writing it, and stated publicly that their goals are his.

I’d have to read up on the details before I can offer an opinion. But anything that encourages homeownership and brings undocumented immigrants out of the shadows can’t be that bad.

The Republicans at their convention were waving signs that read “mass deportation now!” That will no doubt make some of the folks around here happy but it’s not where the public is at (at least I hope not.)

In today’s world, the key to this is how many people watch snippets on TikTok and other social media. The answer is a whole hell of a lot.

Kamala Harris accomplished so many things last night: 1. She impressed the American people that she is Presidential. The Republican attempt to define her as a cackling idiot that nobody wants was never going to fly and now it’s been destroyed. 2. She positioned herself and her party in the center, and the Republicans as extreme. Thats the key to winning any election. 3. She reclaimed patriotism for the Democratic Party. 4. Most amazing of all, she somehow positioned herself as the alpha, Trump as the beta, herself as the challenger, Trump as the incumbent, herself as the new, Trump as the old.

I still think both she and Beyonce will do something for Kamala before it’s done. But we’ll see.

I think I was pretty honest that night. Go back and look if you want. Come on Phil you know this is a great night for Kamala. No guarantee she will win, things could change again. But right now, at this moment, things look pretty good for her.
