You have a habit of making statements like this without ever citing your sources. You’re usually wrong or misleading; in this case it’s probably both. As demonstrated to you again and again, with links proving it every time, undocumented immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than those born here.

The goal now is to not allow this current blindness and hatred to rob us of our humanity. Trump’s anti-American policies need to be fought through legal means. They will never succeed at deporting even close to the numbers they’re talking about, but if they deport even one non-violent criminal, that’s one person too many. There are several organizations and groups that will be fighting this but the most effective is probably the American Civil Liberties Union. I have given generously and will continue to do so; hopefully others reading this will do the same. Now is the time to demonstrate your patriotism and love of the USA and all it’s supposed to stand for.

But nobody’s sick. The vast majority of these people don’t commit any violent crimes and their presence here is a net benefit to us. Of course they absolutely should be here. And most of them are staying no matter what you do. You guys are living in a false nightmare of your own creation. You blame these poor innocent people for your own problems that they didn’t cause and you desperately look for ways to get rid of them. It’s not happening. The sooner you come to accept that the better off we will all be.

It’s absolutely relevant to the topic and it demonstrates your disconnect on this subject. When the media reports on an outside event like Syria or the death of the insurance CEO, you’re fine as taking them as credible. But when they report on a political subject in a way you dislike you reject them. Which proves the point that, for all their faults (and there are plenty) the problem here is not the media; it’s YOU. Conservatives in recent years have come to reject the mainstream media, only in specific instances, not because the media is inaccurate but because reality is too often in conflict with conservative ideology.

When this event happened I wrote that the guy never should have been charged much less convicted. I’m glad he wasn’t convicted. But some of those who rose to his defense wrote the ugliest racist garbage- I mean some really revolting stuff. You can go back through the tread and have a look. I wrote that I was embarrassed and nauseated that in this situation I found myself on the “same side” as these bigots. That hasn’t changed. The racism in this forum is really revolting at times. And I feel that you guys who are not racist are to blame in part for never calling it out.
