But see this is why you guys keep missing the point here. MSNBC is definitely liberal. Whether it’s “far-left” depends on your point of view, though I would argue that if you think it’s extreme left you’re probably extreme right. But that doesn’t matter. The point is, just like between 2017-2020, it’s going to serve as the main news venue for people who don’t like what Trump is up to, which means half the nation. It will serve the same role that Fox News served during the Biden years. Thats why its ratings are about to soar. If you tried to do away with it something else would come along to fill the vacuum. Meanwhile Fox is going to become the voice of the new administration. It won’t be on the attack any longer, instead it will become the excuse maker. Its ratings will likely go down.

I’m quite sure the appointment of Mike Huckabee makes these folks feel like their rejection of Harris was justified.

Let’s see how they do. I’m not going to be one of those libs who criticizes everything before it happens. Of course there is plenty of waste and bureaucracy in the government. If they can reduce some of that without removing good stuff along with it, more power to them. On the other hand if this “department” becomes another bureaucracy that will be ironic. And as I mentioned before its title is rather Orwellian. I was unaware of the DOGE thing.

MSNBC got big ratings and made a lot of money during the last Trump Presidency. I suspect that will happen this time as well.

Secretary of Defense is one of those invisible positions unless we are at war. I had to look up who our current one is. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if during the next 4 years we never hear Hegseth’s name mentioned again in the news once he takes his role.

There is no permanent winner in American politics. No matter how crazy (or sane) Democrats become they will be back in power in a couple of years, simply because they are the opposition to the party that is in power now. That is the main lesson I take from Trump’s massive victory.
