She’s running against a guy who has broken every rule of politics and said things that would destroy any other candidate. Only today he endorsed Mark Robinson, a Holocaust denier, advocate of murder who would deny women the right to vote. This sort of crap doesn’t seem to hurt Trump at all. So why shouldn’t Kamala try to get away with the relatively minor sin of giving as few interviews as possible? Maybe if you guys ran as her opposition a guy who wasn’t a totally incompetent a$$hole it might make a difference, but you didn’t…

The poverty level is unacceptable. 38 million is way too high a figure. But if you look at 10 years, and even more so 20 years, it’s slightly better than it’s been. We had a really good run in the early aughts. But other than that it’s hovered in the same 11% level. The 08 collapse led to some bad years but we recovered during Obama’s second term. Still unacceptable though.

If you want to know my views on nuclear energy or any other subject feel free to ask. I will answer you if I care to. Elon Musk may indeed know more than me about nuclear energy but he certainly didn’t demonstrate that last night. Nonetheless he is a genius, and I am not, so I certainly wouldn’t put it past him. But despite his genius he appears to be an idiot as far as climate change is concerned, I can guarantee you with 100% certainty that Donald Trump does not know more than me about nuclear energy.

And again, please address how a mentally incompetent President gets those hostages home? All reports are that he was behind the entire thing, with hours spent on careful and delicate diplomacy. No I think they did their homework quite well actually. Walz today in Los Angeles: “I was proud to serve my country. And I don’t think those in uniform should be critical of others in uniform. So to all those in uniform, including my opponent, I have only one thing to say: thank you for your service and sacrifice.” Standing ovation. Dude is a really fine speaker and that’s part of the reason that this attack is falling on its face. Vance just looks more and more ridiculous everytime he offers it. Nobody is critical of Walz; most people just look at Vance, shake their heads and think “what a jerk.”

Actually the stats don’t make an obvious case at all. But to realize that you need to look a little deeper. What Biden essentially did is reverse Trump’s policies and went back to what Obama did- in other words, catch and release, no remain in Mexico policy. And the numbers exploded, which would lead you to believe that Trump’s policies were much more effective, right? Wrong. Because if this was true then the numbers under Obama should have been the same as they were under Biden, and far more than they were under Trump. But that’s not the case; actually the numbers under Obama were around the same as they were under Trump, perhaps a little less. Which leads us to three conclusions: 1. Trump’s policies had very little effect on border crossings. 2. Biden’s policies had very little effect on border crossings. 3. The increased border crossings during the last 4 years have causes completely unrelated to border security. We’re arguing over the wrong things.

I like @jerryskids (one of the smarter guys here) but he does have a tendency to be patronizing, like his assumption that because of my background (which he really knows very little about) I know nothing about the “real world” and then follows that up with the assumption that a Vice President of the United States is really no different than how it works in a corporation- which is quite absurd. Our border and immigration issues cannot be solved through executive action anyhow- they require an overhaul of the entire system and that means Congress. And it means addressing man made climate change which has in recent years become the main root of the problem.
