  1. I know you’re asking this question with scorn, but I think you’ll have your answer, partly, in two weeks, when the turnout in voting for New Jersey, Virginia, and California on the Democratic side defy all expectations. Then you’ll have your full answer in November of next year.
  2. Yeah Fox News keeps talking about how these are paid protestors, George Soros funding the whole thing, etc. it’s very frustrating to me: almost every political event I have attended over the last 20 years or so was supposedly paid for by Soros and I have yet to see a dime. Oh well. The tangible objective of all peaceful political protests, including this one, is to energize and activate those that want to see political change, so they can (a) apply pressure to existing elected officials (b) raise money for same and (c) come out in droves in the next election. Today has been the largest peaceful protest in American history, so I am hoping that it has the greatest impact. Can I guarantee that? Nobody can. We can’t know for sure until November of 2026. (That being said, at the rally I attended there was much attention paid to Newsom’s Prop. 50 which would serve to counteract What Texas did. It’s going to pass for sure, but what will be interesting to see is how many folks decide to vote in an off year election. If huge numbers vote for this, and also for the Democratic governor candidates in New Jersey and Virginia, that to me will be an early indication that today’s protests were impactful and successful.)
  3. No but there IS a way to report ICE members when they commit crimes: https://www.aclusocal.org/en/socal-rapid-response-networks
  4. No. Today is far more patriotic. On July 4 at least half of those celebrating are drunken idiots looking to blow things up. They have no idea what they are celebrating or what America truly means. Everyone who is here today knows exactly why they are here. They are standing up for American values.
  5. Sorry you feel this way. There is nothing but good vibes out here. Everyone is having fun. American flags everywhere, Army veterans.
  6. Again, you’re wrong on all counts. Huge protests have an effect on voters, they energize them like nothing else. This is probably the biggest protest in American history. You can disagree with the message but not with the importance. This is incredible.
  7. Why not do it yourself tough guy? Get your jackboots out of the closet and go to the rally. Start a fight.
  8. Love this sign an old lady is holding: “I am Aunt Tifa!”
  9. Some great signs: “Keep the immigrants, deport the racists!” “Orange Lies Matter” ”Mike Johnson, Guardian of Pedophilia”
  10. Standing here with a bunch of army veterans. But yeah they hate America.
  11. Hey hey! Ho ho! Donald Trump has got to go! Real violent, huh?
  12. It really is amazing out here. The atmosphere is terrific. Everyone is super friendly. Helps that it’s a beautiful day too (but then it almost always is in Paradise (Southern California)
  13. You know what old people do best? They vote. You are so screwed….
  14. 1. I am specifically accusing ICE, under the direction of Donald Trump, of breaking our laws and violating the Constitution. 2. Trans is a very important issue to Trans people and their loved ones. Stop persecuting them. Leave them alone. They’re no sicker than you.
  15. Don’t you have a Biden pedophilia YouTube video to post?
  16. Stop watching Fox News. This isn’t about Hamas or Palestine. It’s not even a topic here. But since you brought it up I doubt Gaza feels very free at the moment…
  17. The rally hasn’t even started yet, we got here early. I am in the heart of conservative Orange County. I doubt there are very many progressives here. Just regular folks, a lot are Republicans, fed up with Trump’s crap.
  18. American flags everywhere. “Protect the Constitution!” Is the most common sign. This is awesome.
  19. You’re wrong. The response is incredible. People do care about this. It’s a big focking deal.
  20. Caroline Leavitt a few hours ago: “the main constituency of the Democratic Party are Hamas supporters, illegal aliens, and violent criminals.” And yet liberals are the ones accused of polarizing language. Seriously?
  21. The right is FREAKING OUT about this. So awesome. They are terrified that people are speaking out. OK I’m on my way. Should be fun; will report back later. Hopefully the Nazis won’t show up.
  22. Actually I was trying to differentiate between the protestors and MAGA thugs who might try to provoke violence.
  23. I was caught in the middle of the Rodney King riots in 1992. I didn’t see any murders, but I saw, directly in front of me, plenty of looting and burning. I would call that violent activity. I don’t anticipate that today.
