The consensus seems to be that Harris is going to win, but that Republicans will win the Senate to keep her in check. I think that’s right.

I have no idea where you’re getting that number from. But I’m telling you that even if such programs are out there most undocumented immigrants don’t access them.

MSNBC has opinion shows and it has news shows. I enjoy watching both. The news reported can be trusted. The opinion offered is just that.

Anybody who goes to vote has to give their name and address which is checked off against a list of registered voters. Thats all we need. Requiring further ID is bogus. It’s a deliberate attempt to keep certain people (of a darker shade of skin color) from voting. That’s the only reason. There is no voter fraud. It’s a bullcrap issue.

Who cares?

I really don’t care if you give a fuk about it or not, (though if you don’t I’m sad for you.) Forcibly separating families in order to scare people from coming here is wrong. It’s objectively evil, and nothing you write can ever justify it.

I deny it. For the vast majority of undocumented immigrants (there are no such thing as “illegals”) it’s total bullcrap.

I strongly disagree with you on both points. On the first point these people weren’t separated out of any humanity- just the opposite. It was deliberate cruelty designed to make people afraid to come here. Completely wretched and unamerican. Watch the movie. Second, law enforcement doesn’t “round up” anyone. They arrest individuals who have committed crimes. They don’t arrest whole groups of people. That’s the tactic of dictatorships not this country. Enjoy your day in the high country. @jerryskids I actually agree with the CATO opinion piece you linked, and disagree with Walz on the question of restricting free speech- in terms of general principles. Nonetheless I regard your statement that Walz is a threat to the 1st Amendment as an exaggeration. There ARE specific instances where it might be OK to curtail speech, as Oliver Wendell Holmes famously pointed out. This is a complicated issue IMO with lots of nuances. I don’t fear Walz or any Democrat as a threat to democracy. I DO think Trump is somewhat of a threat to democracy- not quite at the level some liberals do but a threat nonetheless. But that’s a different issue.

Listen I really don’t care what we call these people so long as we don’t return to Trump’s policies. Replacement would mean that, as these people come in, folks like you would be forced to leave. Unfortunately that’s not the case; you’re quite safe. First off most undocumented immigrants don’t come across the border at all. They arrive here legally by airplane, as tourists or students, and then simply fail to leave when their visas expire. Second, most undocumented immigrants who sneak across our southern border don’t encounter border guards. Most of the people you’re referring to are refugees which is a whole other category, not really undocumented immigrants at all, despite the constant attempt by some to conflate the two.

I’m prepared either way. But I’m still pretty confident that Pennsylvania, and the nation, will go with Kamala.

Well I’d like to think it’s the former. But I pay attention to this pretty closely. What other swing state polls have shown a trend line of Trump actually gaining from previous polls outside the margin of error? I haven’t seen that.
