Respect your opinion though I don’t agree with your analysis of last night or your thoughts about Harris and Walz. But your main point is correct. The conservative position on many issues has lots of merit. You don’t have the right messenger. The problem is not conservatism per se (though I wish you guys would move away from the nationalist populism of recent years), it’s Donald Trump.

Trump was asked if tariffs would increase prices. No answer. He was asked what a mass deportation of 20 million people would look like. No answer. He was asked how he would improve healthcare. No answer. He was asked how he would address climate change. No answer. He was asked how he would end the Ukraine War, as promised in 1 day. No answer. And yet once again this morning we are told that Kamala’s main problem is that she doesn’t lay out specifics.

More like thousands. I heard from the daughter of a friend of mine who attends Arizona State. (For any one who doesn’t know, ASU has more students than any other university in the USA.) She told me the Taylor Swift news was all over the dorms last night, much more than the debate, and everyone was energized and talking about voting. Sure most of these kids prefer Kamala anyhow but how many of them were going to vote? Now a lot of them will. And it’s a swing state. I actually agree that celebrity endorsements haven’t made any difference since 1960 when Sinatra and the Rat Pack endorsed JFK. But Taylor is unique. She is at a level of celebrity that is only matched in history by Elvis and the Beatles and she may be bigger than either. Yes this absolutely matters.

No polls taken within 24 hours are going to tell you anything. When I wrote near unanimous I was referring to political pundits on all sides. in a week or so we will see what the public thought. I am hoping for, and anticipating, a surge for Kamala Harris that will propel her to a close but firm lead in the swing states that will last through the election. Then when the election occurs I believe that, just in 2022, Democrats will perform much better than the even the polling says. We’ll see.

That’s pretty close. Those of us who don’t like Donald Trump have been trying to tell you for years now that he is a unique liar. All politicians lie and mislead and that includes Kamala Harris. But Trump is completely on his own level.

The correct answer is “because we bought into this xenophobic nationalist nonsense. But as stupid as we are, Trump’s new tariffs will be far far worse and lead to an economic catastrophe.” I wish the moderators had pressed Trump more on tariffs because when I listen to him I honestly think he doesn’t understand what they are or how they work. He still insists every time that other countries will simply pay them without raising any prices on consumers. I don’t think he’s lying here I think it’s worse, that he actually believes it. I think that if you’re running for President and it’s 57 days from the election, and you’re asked what is your plan on healthcare, you shouldn’t say “I have a concept of a plan.” If you say that my response is going to be “what in the actual fock?”

Don’t think you’re right on this. In about a week I expect her to take a 3-5 point lead in most of the swing states and perhaps a 6-8 point lead nationwide. I’m probably over optimistic here (I usually am.)

Conservatives have some very good ideas. We need a serious conservative candidate for President. Come up with one.

I think the fact that he refused to look at her is going to be brought up again and again. And I think his most embarrassing moment (there were many) was when he brought up Victor Orban as an example of a foreign leader who admired him. What the hell was he thinking?
