I feel sad that you’re the one writing this because during the couple of years that I’ve been in this forum you’ve bought into a large number of lies and false conspiracies fed to you by the right wing. You also have a very strong conspiratorial view of the world anyhow- only today you questioned if the MSM had received “orders” about pushing Biden out. Orders from who? The Deep State? This sort of thing, which occurs often in your posts, makes it difficult for me to have a conversation with you at times. I don’t think I was lied to about Biden deliberately. I think there was a lot of wishful thinking going on. But beyond that the bigger problem with your overall point (beyond you being completely wrong about the trustworthiness of the MSM) is that I do not vote Democrat over the honesty of their candidates. It’s true I try not to vote for dishonest people, but I vote for Democrats because I agree with their policies (for now). I think they are good for the country (for now.)

Inflation down, violent crime at its lowest in decades, the economy booming, border encounters way down, carbon emissions finally lower- As I wrote yesterday it’s very difficult to find any real flaws in Biden’s presidency. On every measurable issue he has performed better than Trump. Given Trump’s incompetence, buffoonery, bigotry, authoritarianism and corruption, why is this even a race? Baffles me.

He would declare that the USA has no responsibility to defend Taiwan and no authority to interfere in Chinese internal affairs. Total surrender, end of story. Trump makes Neville Chamberlain look like a firm leader. Biden would need several hours to get up to speed. In the meantime the Joint Chiefs would move the 7th fleet into the Taiwan strait and Blinken would be on the phone with Xi warning about the real possibility of nuclear war between the U.S. and China.

This country will suffer greatly long term because of many of Trump’s terrible policies during his first 3 years. But yes, for that time period we survived his buffoonery. The problem is that during his 4th year we faced a crisis and Trump was incompetent to handle it. His incompetence cost us the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and we took a hit to the economy that we’re still recovering from. So no we couldn’t afford him. Now we have new crisis to look forward to. The most urgent one is climate change. We have a VERY limited window to deal with this problem. I’m not sure we can. But we cannot afford a buffoon as President particularly one with Trump’s anti-science, anti-expert, anti-globalist outlook.

We didn’t need them to tell us. Every rational person paying attention has already figured this out. Some of us have known it for a least 10 years or more.

No idea how this is going to end up. Biden is obviously hoping that a good press conference and another interview with Lester Holt will solve all his problems. But that seems highly optimistic. On the other hand, if Biden continues to proclaim that hell no he’s not leaving the race what are the Democrats going to do? If they continue to doubt him that only guarantees Trump’s victory. So if I were advising Biden and I wanted him to stay in, I would tell him just stick with it and eventually all the Democrats will be with you, they HAVE to. But surely he’s already calculated this. Such a focking mess.

This is really a historic event going on with Biden right now. I can’t recall a similar situation in American history. It did happen in British history to Nevile Chamberlain in 1940; a rebellion of young members of Parllament forced him out in favor of Winston Churchill. But I can’t think of an American example.
