The main flaw in your thinking is the assumption that a candidate “owns” his voters; that if he endorses somebody else they go along with him. That never happens.

It doesn’t? I inherited money from my father. So did Donald Trump (a whole lot more than I did). And while a whole lot of white people didn’t inherit anything, most of them still benefited from white privilege in every aspect of their lives. Which is why no one should complain when we as a society use affirmative action and DEI to try and even the odds a little. Just a little.

George Soros does fund many progressive groups but somehow I doubt he’s funding pro-Palestinian protestors, some of whom are very anti-Semitic.

Nope, but it’s true. And it ain’t racist. See what you guys never get is that identity politics- being pro-black, pro-Latino, pro-Asian- none of that is racist. Only being pro-white is racist. Why is that? Because not only have whites had the overwhelming societal, business and political power for the entire history of this country, but we used that power consistently to oppress anyone who wasn’t white. (Or male, or Christian, or heterosexual.) So all of these other groups are just trying to gain a little equality and stop the oppression. More power to them.

It’s not a nightmare. Nobody cares, it won’t matter at all.

No subtlety here

Everybody will suffer if Trump wins. It won’t be good for anyone reading this.

Wasn’t aware of it until just now. I think it’s outrageous. He ought to be condemned for it. And yes it is like @Hardcore troubadour only worse because he’s a public figure. I know very little about this guy. I thought he gave a good speech last night. He’s supposed to be a rising star in the Democratic Party. But this was awful.

Now that’s darn rude. To be honest I misunderstood you last night. But you’re correct that Biden lied about the numbers and a few other things. Politicians do tend to do that unfortunately, especially to defend their own records. Biden HAS tightened up the border in recent months and there has been an improvement. But of course it can’t match 2020 when Covid basically put almost a complete halt to border encounters. But to single out any lies from Biden, particularly on this issue, and coming from you given the guy you prefer in this election seems especially hypocritical.

I teared up a few times. Like Tim Walz I get emotional.

I wasn’t referring to the far left. I feel the same way about them as you do most of the time. Most of us liberals are actually center left, just as most conservatives are actually center right. I certainly don’t want to tear up our society. I love capitalism. I might want to tinker around the edges more than you do in order to provide a larger safety net. And I definitely am more positive about woke stuff than most people here. But most of what I want is pretty mild stuff.

Well you’re still wrong. But you know what? You hate the Raiders so you’ll always be right about the important stuff.
