Even if I were to accept your argument that the prosecution of Trump was lawfare (and FTR I do not) it still doesn’t make what Trump is doing now justified, and it will absolutely NOT lead to better results. If anything both sides will engage in this even more than before. But what’s even worse is that it weakens the integrity of our judicial system, which has always been one of the things Americans can be most proud of.

I think he deserves serious consideration for this award if the Israeli-Gaza ceasefire achieves a lasting peace. (in Middle East terms, a “lasting peace” is anything that is at least a year.) But it’s too soon for that, the timing is off. Let’s see how this peace deal plays out; I am for once quite optimistic. If it goes well give him the award for sure next time; he’s earned it.

You’ve jumped the shark with this post sir. Consider what you’re implying here: you acknowledge that this is a bogus prosecution but you’re okay with it because you don’t like the accused. You have claimed in the past to be a true conservative which by definition means someone with reverence for the Constitution and our system of justice. Now you seem willing to toss it all overboard out of hatred and retribution. There are other posters here without integrity who are cheering this on and they don’t surprise me. I don’t think it’s part of the ACA subsidy extension which is the topic of this shutdown. All undocumented immigrants have access to ER, and in 8 states, California included, some undocumented immigrants have limited access to Medicaid. I wish all of them had full access but they don’t.

No they didn’t have any state. Not any economy to speak of. Visit a Sioux reservation some time, that’s what their lives were like. 80% unemployment, no hope, no future. You want to remove the terrorist-extremist threat, you have to get rid of the hopelessness. But you’re right to one extent: just throwing money at them is not the answer by itself.
