I sense a frustration in this post because I think you realize Kamala is going to win. But the frustration shouldn’t cause you to dwell in fantasyland because that’s what you’re doing: 1. Joe Biden is still President, still in charge. He is slower, more tired, but he hasn’t lost his ability to think. If emergencies occur in the next few months he is the man in charge and his decisions will be well thought out. 2. The media is not protecting Kamala Harris. She will be interviewed. She will get tough questions. Her platform will be detailed. She’s only had a few weeks to deal with stuff that takes most campaigns months to plan. I’m sure you will strongly disagree with most of her proposals but I don’t think you will be able to call her incompetent. And your assumptions about the MSM have always been wrong. 3. About a year ago I recall you posting that any Republican other than Trump would win this election easily. I agreed with you then and still do. I think Kamala has become a remarkable candidate but I don’t think, given inflation, she would be beating Nikki Haley. Trump is still your major problem. He’s the reason Kamala will win. The Republicans need to ditch him (and just as importantly they need to ditch his isolationist/nativist ideology anti-trade ideology.)

I would feel terrible and miserable. But I hope that I wouldn’t blame millions of people.

Looks a little dated

Since his quitting pretty much ensured that Kamala Harris will be elected, it will work out pretty well I think. I would have gladly paid much more than that to see Trump lose.

We don’t know that it was Iran that hacked Trump anyhow. All we have is the campaign’s word on that and they’re not exactly known as the most reliable of sources.

With regard to the thread title: I suspect the liberals around here are feeling more confident these days because we believe that Trump is going to lose the election. I certainly believe this now. Of course we need to be cautious. It’s still going to be close and anything could change. Who knows what might happen the next week or month? But for the moment at least we’re getting excited. If Kamala wins don’t expect me to run any victory laps. My main reaction will be relief. And then I’ll do what I always do: try to reach out my hand in friendship with whoever wants it on the other side and see in what ways we can find common ground. (I will do the same if Trump wins.)

@Hardcore troubadour has also wished for my daughters to be raped by undocumented immigrants and he has also wished the same for others here who disagreed with him on this subject. Just want to point that out for anyone concerned about who the “disgusting” person might be around here.

Did I downplay it? I think it’s disgusting that you bring it up in this thread. But that’s the extent of me “downplaying it.” I’ve been in this forum for about 18 months now. You’ve spent that entire time bringing up examples of violence by a few undocumented immigrants in an attempt to blame it on 15 million people and on Joe Biden and now Kamala Harris. You’re a broken record, a bigot and an idiot. Hopefully when your guy loses in November your entire nativist and xenophobic movement will disappear, but I doubt it.

So here’s what we have to look forward to this week: For the Democrats: Kamala lays out her platform (supposed to be on her website by the end of the week.) Preparations for the convention next week. Special guest stars to be announced. I predict there will be an interview or two with Kamala scheduled as well. For the Republicans: Trump will interview with Elon Musk tonight; the two of them will create new conspiracy theories together (the only problem is that they will competing with each other for which one is the bigger victim.) More crowd size bogus whining. More racist attacks. More JD Vance making awkward, creepy statements. Should be fun!

I’m not going to try. One of the most insidious elements of conspiracy theories is that you can’t prove them wrong because any source I might use to do so automatically becomes part of the conspiracy.

Kamala has a press pool with journalists with years of experience following her around. They’re on the plane with her. Some of them from Fox News. They were at the airport. And now they’re all part of the conspiracy. Again, how can you believe this?
