Because he was talking about gun control, not about his military record. And because he served for 24 years and doesn’t have a reputation for bragging about it (or anything.) Because he comes off as a good guy, essentially honest, and NORMAL. And because JD Vance comes off as creepy and cringeworthy and Trump should just stay away from all discussion of valor, period. For these reasons this sort of attack against Walz is doomed to fail.

Most Muslims don’t hate her at all. I was in Istanbul last summer and Taylor Swift was featured on the radio and in clubs. Isis is to Muslims as white supremacists are to Christians. They are a loud dangerous minority.

Sorry I don’t see most of this the way you do. Hopefully the public won’t either; I’m pretty confident they won’t. But we’ll find out. With regard to my “team”- I don’t have one. I really like Kamala and want Donald Trump to lose. That’s about it. I don’t particularly have love for Democrats. There are things about Biden that have always really bothered me and I was quite critical of him in 2020 though I’m really glad he won. But a lot of the time during that campaign I thought he was full of and said so. If I thought that Walz deserved real criticism over these issues I would tell you. But I don’t.

She will give interviews either during or just after the convention. Perhaps sooner. She doesn’t have a history of avoiding interviews so this seems like a silly prediction on your part, IMO.

I should have known about the video as soon as I saw @Strike’s name that it would be misleading as hell. What a crock of sh!t. So let me get this straight, there are three accusations made against Walz regarding his military service: 1. He left his National Guard unit, after 24 years of service, two months before it was deployed. At the time he left he didn’t know it would be deployed. MAGA has turned this into “he ran away from combat and abandoned his buddies!” 2. Shortly before he quit he was promoted to Sgt. Command Major, which is a very hard position to reach. He never actually served in that position having not completed the formalities, yet his bio for office reads he retired in that position. MAGA had turned this into “he lied about his rank!” 3. In a speech promoting gun control, Walz made the point that civilians were using weapons of war that Walz used during his time in the service; he said “weapons that I used in war”. MAGA has turned this into “he lied about being in combat”. Sorry guys all three of these are nothingburgers. I suppose the last one could be seen as slightly problematic but it’s pretty clear that his overall point was about the weapons in question and not some sort of brag that he was in a war he wasn’t. If he’s pressed on it I’m sure he’ll say he misspoke and shouldn’t have said that. But I don’t think any of this rises to anything the public is going to care about. It certainly doesn’t change my mind about the guy.

The quickest and easiest way to do that is to end the tariffs on China. I’m hoping that Kamala will do so when she’s President.

Well for one thing I don’t attack other peoples personal lives because if I did I’d be a total scumbag. So there’s that.

I’m not familiar with that recording. If he truly lied it’s bad. I suspect however there is more to the story. A week ago I didn’t know who Tim Walz was. From what I’ve read he sure seems like a guy filled with honor and great integrity. His actions as governor regarding transgenders in particular tell me that he’s a brave guy willing to stand up to his convictions. I really like and admire that. I also really like his stances on gays and undocumented immigrants, on Covid and the George Floyd protests. All of this makes he think he is a stand up guy. Perhaps like other politicians he stretches the truth about himself from time to time. That would be unfortunate. Still like him though.
