Well since black people only represent about 13% of the total population that would make sense wouldn’t it? Doesn’t change my perspective.

Except that I don’t believe that everyone is treated the same by police in our society. Though it doesn’t apply to this situation, what @Patented Phil was referring to is my general belief that, in many instances, black people, and young black men in particular, are treated differently and unfairly by police, leading to tragic outcomes like George Floyd.

OK so let me go back to my old school understanding of economics- the reason that we use dollars as a standard is because the government of the United States guarantees their value as being based on the wealth of the United States: Every dollar, quarter, dime, etc. represents that wealth, by the solemn promise of our government. The dollar can fluctuate in value but never much because the entire world trusts that it won’t, that our production of goods will remain either relatively stable or increase. The rest of the world’s stable currencies are similarly guaranteed by their respective governments. Thats what I remember learning way back in Econ 101. But this appears to be something new?

I don’t think you saw the same debate with Pence that I did. She won easily. She was also excellent in the primary debates. She lost because she was unable to carve out a space for herself between Biden and Bernie Sanders.

Here’s the problem Jerry: right now what you call “the leftie echo chamber” is encompassing most of the nation. And what you refer to as “most reasonable people” is in the minority. What you don’t seem to have picked up on yet is that the dynamics of this election have completely changed. Another point: you guys keep posting old statements by Kamala where she admittedly struggles at times to make her point. Since then she’s gotten about 1,000 times better in her delivery. Thats why none of this stuff is going to work. She’s become an extremely impressive speaker. She’s risen to the moment at hand.

Yeah the Pueblo might be the worst example. And yes this reinforces the practice. But- and this is really the only question that matters- would that have kept you from making this trade? The answer for me is super easy- no. And it was not an easy trade to make, and shame on anyone not willing to credit or congratulate President Biden.

I would agree that if it established that practice it might be a bad thing. But be honest: that has been the practice for, like, forever. There has never been any other practice. Not in my lifetime anyhow.
