Let me be more specific: @Reality asserts, without any evidence whatsoever, that Josh Shapiro wasn’t chosen because the Democratic Party is anti-Semitic. He wrote “that’s literally what happened” except that neither he nor any conservative have any evidence of this baseless claim. But why should this be different from the thousand other baseless claims that conservatives make these days? Conservatism has become a movement based on feelings- bad ones.

Obviously we don’t have any polling on Walz yet. Most Americans have no idea who he is. But- a warning sign for Trump- just like Kamala’s first speech two weeks ago after Biden quit, Walz’s speech from yesterday is completely blowing up on TikTok.

Somebody made a great point tonight about Tim Walz: People like him. It’s as simple as that. It’s why none of the attacks against him are going to work. People like her too. Much as I wanted Hillary to win, the truth is that people didn’t like her. They like Kamala.

You are correct. The public disapproves of transgenders in general and for minors in particular. But they also don’t want the government involved.

That was parents being angry- but not with trans or any other woke issue. They were angry about Covid keeping their kids out of school prior to the vaccines. Once the kids were back in school the anger faded. Conservatives have always assumed this was about ALL the liberal issues like CRT and transgenders. But most people couldn’t tell you what CRT is and don’t give a sh!t about transgenders.

You keep bringing up Virginia. It’s a terrible analogy for several reasons: 1. Voting for a school board or any local politician, or even a governor, has completely different priorities than voting for President. When it comes to voting for President, the issue of trannies, or any woke issue for that matter, is so far down the list of priorities that it’s usually not even mentioned. 2. You misjudge the public attitude on this issue anyhow. 60% of the public don’t want the government getting involved. That means they don’t want you making trans surgeries illegal for minors. They don’t want you making restrictions. They want you to stay the hell out of it.

I would expect either during or just after the convention. I don’t think this will be a thing. I also don’t believe that Trump’s attacks on Kamala on her record as a Senator will have any effect. And I think that at this point the border stuff will have only marginal effect. In my estimation, there is only one way that Trump can still secure the win: if the economy continues to have days like yesterday and if it appears we are headed into recession territory. Even this doesn’t assure Trump the victory but it would give him a renewed fighting chance.

If the Trump team tries to attack either Harris or Walz on the trans issue, Trump will lose even worse than he’s going to lose now.
