There was a date and venue already agreed to. Two weeks ago Trump’s spokesman Chueng stated that the only reason that Trump wouldn’t commit to it is because Kamala wasn’t the official nominee. Now she is, and Trump suddenly gets to change his mind and demand a new venue with new rules? You honestly think this is fine?

Because it’s a dumb excuse. Trump filed the silly lawsuit against Stephanopoulis back in March. He agreed to the ABC debate in May. If there was a conflict of interest why didn’t he mention it then? This guy is a congenital liar and you believe everything that comes out of his mouth.

So it turns out that neither Fox News nor the Harris camp has agreed to, or even heard of this proposed debate on September 4. It came completely out of Trump’s head last night, and it was an excuse for him to write “the ABC debate has been terminated!” https://www.politico.com/news/2024/08/03/trump-calls-off-abc-debate-suggests-fox-news-face-off-instead-00172554 There is no Fox debate set up. It’s simply a proposal by Trump. Yet he writes “I have agreed to debate”. Total fabrication. And he’s using it to back out of the ABC debate.

Your viewpoint doesn’t surprise me. I don’t agree with it, but it doesn’t matter. Kamala will agree to this new debate I suspect, because she can’t risk too many people reaching the same wrong conclusion you have. And the crowd cheering for Trump won’t matter anyhow. He’s still going to get destroyed because this is the wrong person for him to go toe to toe with.

She’s very liberal on some social issues. And on a few economic ones. She’s not leftist or Marxist or socialist. What you don’t understand is that there is a HUGE difference between liberalism and leftism. You don’t want to understand this because it’s simpler to think otherwise. But basically in terms of economics: 1. A liberal believes that government should interfere with the free market in order to improve its chances of bringing prosperity and give everyone more equal opportunity to succeed. A liberal believes capitalism is good, just needs to be tinkered with from time to time. 2. A leftist believes that capitalism is bad and cannot be fixed; it must be attacked and ultimately replaced with socialism. 3. Leftists and liberals can unite, especially on social issues like woke and abortion and gay rights, etc., or even on some temporary economic issues. But in the long term their views are irreconcilable. 4. The vast majority of the Democratic Party are liberals not leftists. This includes almost everyone in power. The leftists have gotten louder over the years but not any more powerful. I offer the evidence of Bernie Sanders. For years now he has been pushing a very specific agenda. He hasn’t gotten close to getting any of it agreed to by the Democratic leadership, much less passed by Congress.

Trump announced he as agreed to a debate with Fox News on Sept. 4. No word that Harris has agreed to move the debate from ABC that has already been agreed to. The new debate would have a live audience, presumably one very friendly to Trump, with cheers and boos. I’m guessing that Trump hopes Kamala will refuse this and insist on ABC: that would give Trump his excuse to avoid the debate and blame her.

Yeah many leftists are opposed to Shapiro for a variety of reasons; Israel is only one of them. Shapiro is a pro-business centrist, along the lines of Rick Caruso in California (one of my favorite Democrats). But despite what @EternalShinyAndChrome and others here claim, the leftists don’t run the Democratic Party. In fact they’re less and less powerful. Kamala is certainly not in the Bernie/AOC camp. I don’t think she will pay much attention to them.

We all need to remember that Trump’s proposed trade policies will cripple our economy, make inflation and unemployment much worse, and be generally terrible. Even the status quo is far preferable.

Shapiro is apparently a better speaker than Kelly. But I would have preferred Kelly as he can put more states in play. Still though if you win Pennsylvania you win the election. One thing that worries me- isn’t there some woman claiming abuse? Hope there’s nothing to that…

OK last post on this. I wasn’t refuting that she hasn’t given interviews. If I had, why would I assert that she would give plenty of interviews in the next few weeks? I was refuting the idea that they were trying to hide her because she is incapable of giving good interviews which is really dumb. That interview proves it. Im sorry if you’re not smart enough to figure this out. I’m not wasting any more time on it.

Lol at all this pick one crap. I pick neither. I read the full interview, thought that it was a good representation of her skills, completely refuted @Tree of Knowledge’s post, and posted it. November of last year or July of this year? Don’t really care. You can care if you want.

Yeah this has all been thought out. The point of me posting that interview (which @JuneJuly is too dumb apparently to understand) is that she is extremely good at interviews, has solid answers to criticisms (read her response on the border for instance). They won’t be able to touch her.
