Yes. And other Democratic strategists urge caution as well. And they may be right. Let’s see what everyone is saying in a few weeks. But what I wrote is that the Harris team expects to win this election. Of course they do. To think otherwise makes no sense.

And in terms of 2020 they won’t or can’t. And it’s deliberate.

I have no interest spending the next two months attempting to defend Kamala Harris against every conservative attack made about her time as District Attorney and Attorney General. From everything I’ve read and witnessed she did a very good job overall, far from perfect, but good. She combined reasonable criminal justice reform with a tough on crime approach. Compare that to Trump’s complete incompetency and failure at everything he’s ever done other than self-promotion, and I don’t see the point in addressing it. You can if you want to, but it’s kind of boring.

So much for all the conspiracy theories about the Obamas. Didn’t Trump’s spokesman Cheung try to use Obama’s silence as part of the excuse to avoid committing to the debate?

This won’t fly either. You guys are an echo chamber, convincing each other of this crap. But it’s not enough. The rest of the public won’t care about this stuff.

A good reason has been offered as to why Trump might be playing games with the debate- because unless the judge agrees to dismiss the case or change the date, he’s going to be sentenced in New York on Sept. 18. The date of the debate is Sept. 10. He doesn’t want that contrast.

What you’re describing is how the Trump team is trying to define her. My feeling is they won’t succeed. The thing you don’t realize is that most of the public has never really been exposed to her and her performance in the last week has been positively electric. I keep telling you it’s a whole new ball game and you don’t want to accept it. The other problem you have with calling her far left is that it’s been a Republican strategy used against 100% of Democratic candidates for the last 80 years. Kerry, Obama, Hillary, Biden, Kamala:”you can’t vote for them; they’re too far left; they’re a Communist”. The public is immune to it; they don’t care.

It wasn’t distance that lost the war for us in both Vietnam and Afghanistan, it was that it’s very difficult, almost impossible, to defeat a guerilla enemy that hides among a population that doesn’t like you. I can offer other, closer examples: Britain and Ireland, France and Algeria. Israel can’t win in Gaza.

The reason that Israel needs to stand down is that they’re less safe if they don’t. They shouldn’t stand down to save the Palestinians, they should stand down to save Israel. They can’t win this war, anymore that we could win the Vietnam War or Afghanistan.

I just have this weird feeling that even after The delegates choose Kamala (unanimously I would guess) Trump will argue that the whole process was illegitimate (he’s already saying this) and that therefore he can’t debate her because there is no official candidate for the Democrats. And when he loses the election this will be his excuse as to how the election was stolen from him.

I sure hope so. I really want to see them debate as she will wipe the floor with him. But he seems to be looking for a way out…

Lol you guys are like a broken record. Let’s suppose everything you say here was true- it’s not, almost none of it is, but for the sake of argument: 1. Kamala is still highly preferable to Trump on this issue. You know why? Because she’s not racist, and she’s never going to try to deport 15 million people and totally fock up our economy. Even if she were completely incompetent and completely responsible for everything bad that’s happened she’s still better than Trump. About 1000 times. 2. The mainstream media is still the best, and frankly only reliable source of news there is. Right wing media lies to you all the time- worst example is that Trump won in 2020, but there are hundreds of others. The MSM isn’t perfect but without him you would have nothing at all.

It’s not that I don’t grasp it, it’s that it’s a silly claim. The press got it wrong before, now they’re getting it right. That’s not unusual when they pay more attention to an issue or person.

Yeah, to the extent that those polls are significant at all they show that she has already improved on Biden, and that’s with most of the data taken before the public has really heard her. So for Harris fans it’s terrific news. The only place that she falls outside the margin of error is Arizona, and then only by a point or two. That’s easily fixable if she decides to choose Mark Kelly.

Man you guys are terrified. As you should be. She’s going to win.

No. We discussed this in the other thread. They may have called her the “border czar”, because they lazily took up what conservatives were calling her, but she never was a border czar. And in any case it’s a side issue and completely irrelevant. If you want to discuss Kamala’s actions or decisions regarding the border, where she had no power ever to do anything, go ahead. Better yet, let’s examine her ideas for the border now and compare them to Trump’s ideas, which include the forced mass deportation of up to 15 million people. Let’s put it out there and let the public decide who has the better ideas.
