I’m trying not to be too giddy here…but another great statement by Kamala, this time on Israel. Somehow she has managed to to the near impossible: I think she is going to gain back almost all of the Muslim vote that Biden lost without losing any Jewish support. Amazing.

I think it’s worth taking note of because I never believed the whole Blacks for Trump thing anyhow. The rest of the poll, showing Trump ahead by 3, can be dismissed except for the fact that Kamala is already doing better than Biden and people don’t know much about her yet. But I stand by my two premises: first that we will know a lot more in 2 weeks, and second, what we will learn at that time will be very good for Kamala and very bad for Trump. If I am wrong I will certainly acknowledge it here.

I agree with your points. They are all factors. But I don’t agree that they should be put ahead of climate change. IMO that is the deciding factor, and has a profound effect on several of the issues you cite.

Kamala has now given 3 speeches since she became the presumptive Democratic nominee. She has become an excellent speech maker. Her cadences are superb, her delivery outstanding. It’s simply amazing to me how well she’s doing. Of course there will be tough moments ahead. There will be interviews and debates (hopefully) and she will have to answer some tough questions. But for now she has exceeded every expectation. I know that some of you guys think I am on a love fest here, I am trolling, ignoring the polling from even a week ago that has her unpopular, etc. But I’m telling you guys things have changed. This is Barack Obama in 2008, and Ronald Reagan in 1980. That is honestly what I’m seeing here. I’ve been assuming for months that Democrats best chance was for this election to be a rejection of Donald Trump. But it’s moving beyond that to an acceptance of Kamala Harris.

If your goal is to get Kamala elected you’re doing a far better job than I could.

1. Even with all the costs you cite, I say that undocumented immigration (I won’t use the word “illegal” because a person cannot be illegal) is a net economic benefit to our society. It’s only going to get worse until we seriously address that issue, which overwhelms all others.

Privilege? it means she has to work twice as hard for everything she has received and is given half the credit. Every black professional in this country knows this, especially black women. Look at all the racism thrown against her in the last few days. Look at how all of her accomplishments throughout her entire life has been disparaged and she is called “a DEI hire” which, to conservatives, means she is undeserving. Thats OK though. These sort of attacks just make her stronger and more likely to win.

Well this isn’t the thread to have a long nuanced conversation about this issue, and I have tried to do it in the past. Let me say with regard to your last paragraph that I disagree strongly with your point #1 and agree strongly with your point #2 though I suspect we may disagree on the causes and solutions.

This is really silly. She was born in Oakland. She has always identified as African-American. She attended Howard University and is a member of the most prominent AA sorority.

Kamala continues to make all the right moves: she condemned yesterday’s violent pro-Hamas protests as despicable. Then speaking before teachers union, she said “Republicans want to ban books. We want to ban assault rifles.”

I say she’s going to win. I never said “resoundingly”. It’s going to be very close. I give the edge- for now.
