BLM was a good movement (in 2020 I contributed money to them, and I’m proud of that) but it’s been taken over by leftist radicals. This statement should only help Kamala with the moderates she needs to win, and won’t hurt her at all with black voters.

And again, this is an argument made by people who are proposing mass deportation of millions of people. And who killed an immigration deal that would have resolved a lot of this issue. If Kamala presses these points (and she will) these attacks won’t hurt her.

I’m not a brainwashed stooge and you’re still wrong about this. But in any event you miss the major point. Kamala was tasked to investigate the immigration situation, including the border, which she did. The answer she came up with, which is that the whole process needs reform, was the correct answer. She didn’t have the power to do anything about it, neither did Biden, because Republicans refuse to agree on any reasonable way out of this situation. You guys want mass deportation and a stupid wall on the border and that’s unacceptable to Democrats (and, IMO, reasonable people.) The attack against Kamala on this issue will work with folks who already planned to vote for Trump. Hopefully it won’t work on anyone else.

All I’m saying is that there’s a lot of history of MAGA violence. This is a report from 2020; it’s only gotten worse since then. A MAGA guy beat up Paul Pelosi (he was seeking to murder Nancy). I don’t think it was wise of her to get involved in that. She’s made some other choices in the past that weren’t so wise. The best leaders learn from their mistakes.

Well I’m excited about that for sure- and of course I think the number is much higher than you do. But what I was referring to in that post was the conspiracy theories I’ve been reading in this thread about how Harris has been put up there to lose so they don’t have to deal with her in 2028. It’s so laughable.

Personally I don’t think this is an issue. I didn’t think Biden was too old, and I don’t think Trump is too old. I’ve always thought Trump was unhinged but that has nothing to do with his age. But the public doesn’t agree with me. 57% think Trump is too old to be President.

It was reasonable to believe Smollett at the time. A lot of MAGA folks are violent and crazy. That’s still true. So his story was believable.

I wrote this on May 6 and I think a lot of it remains true for both sides. But there are some changes, most of which help Kamala: 1. The black vote will be less disaffected. 2. Students are more likely to vote for her than they would have for Biden. 3. Kamala will represent a positive that people will vote FOR rather than just vote against Trump. This is the biggest surprise for me, as late as Monday afternoon I didn’t anticipate it. On the minus side for Kamala: 1. Inflation has to continue to improve. If people don’t feel the economy is getting better none of this will likely matter. Perception on this one issue remains the key ingredient for this election, IMO. 2. She’s going to get hammered on immigration. She needs to have a good answer. If she doesn’t she will lose in the places she needs to win. Should be interesting….

This is true. And even then you’ve got the Democratic Convention which means a bump for Kamala. Post Labor Day is when we will have a true sense of the race (actually this has generally always been the case.)

You know who else was betting on the young people? Obama. And he was right to do so.
