Very telling. And quite depressing. Hopefully most people won’t share your refusal to look at any facts or details.
-
Again this is extremely general. You make no specific claims whatsoever. And when you look at the specific charges your theory falls apart.
-
The problem with this theory is that she was paid off a few days after the Access Hollywood tape came out. And the prosecution appears to have proof and testimony that this was the reason they did it- for the campaign. So if that’s Trump’s defense it will likely fail. But as of this point it’s not Trump’s defense- he is denying the affair altogether. Why did Cohen pay her off? Who knows, nothing to do with Trump. Good luck with that.
-
You’re just making general comments. Why specifically should this case be overturned? How specifically is it flawed?
-
The problem with arguing that this is total BS or that it’s purely political is this: he really did commit a crime here. It’s something that SHOULD be a crime. It’s something that if anyone else committed it would also be a crime. It’s a crime that should always be prosecuted. Given these facts it’s hard to be dismissive.
-
Why would it be overturned? The basic charge here is that Trump paid off Stormy Daniels in order to help win the 2016 election. That’s illegal. It’s a felony. The evidence is there to back up the charge. What would be the justification for overturning it?

You guys keep pretending that Trump is some kind of alpha because he bangs porn stars. Dude paid for it. He’s paid for every sex he’s ever had (except for the rapes) in one form or another. Not impressive. -

So the hush money trial begins next Monday apparently. Conservatives are arguing that (1) it’s a nothing case (2) it’s politically motivated (3) the public isn’t paying attention. Nobody knows how this is gonna go because it’s that rare event in this country that has never happened before. No President has ever been on trial for a felony before. You can guess how this is all going to play out, you can try and dismiss the public amount of attention and reaction, but in truth we just don’t know a damn thing. I will make one prediction: IF Trump is found guilty by a jury and becomes a convicted felon, there will be a significant change in the way he is perceived by this country. Whether or not it changes the election I can’t say. But the change will be there.

Many conservatives, perhaps a majority, are like @HellToupee and don’t give a crap about this issue, never did. Problem is the conservative movement deliberately aligned itself with religious folks in order to win more elections. It was always a shotgun wedding. But now they’re going to have to pay the price

Feds to charge Ohtani's Interpreter. Entire Forum was Wrong
The Real timschochet replied to jonmx's topic in The Geek Club
Similar logic is used for every conspiracy theory I have ever read about in my life. Which is why there is no way to disprove conspiracy theories. It’s quite amusing to watch @Jon_mx, perhaps the single biggest purveyor of conspiracy theories in this forum (which is really saying something) act with rational common sense for once. But hey I applaud it. -

I think @Hardcore troubadour and @Maximum Overkill have a point: why should anyone really care about abortion? Republicans should run with this. I can see the campaign ads now: -

Putting aside your complete ignorance about reproductive rights, coming from you this statement is absolutely hilarious, since at least half of your posts in this forum are devoted to this issue. -

Again you’re wrong, ridiculously so. Trump suggested he would support a national ban until he looked at the polling numbers and reversed himself. Guy is a coward with no principles. No wonder you seem to like him. One thing is clear to the majority of Americans: if there is a national ban, Trump will be responsible. He is already responsible for the existing bans in Florida, Arizona, Alabama and several other states. Anywhere in this country that a woman is prevented from having an abortion, Trump is responsible. Very soon now he will pay the price. -

Trump’s desperate, losing attempts to delay the hush money trial remind me of a guy on death row trying to stave off execution. He really really does not want a jury hearing this case. Of course if Trump and his defenders were correct that this is nothing more than a political witch hunt, then he would have nothing to fear right? There would be a quick acquittal. -

I remember when “The Boss” used to refer to Bruce Springsteen. Now it refers to an incompetent cowardly rapist traitor who is destined for years in prison. What depressing times we live in. -

Letting the states decide is not a “common sense solution”; it’s a disaster, and it’s going to crush “The Boss” in November. -

This argument makes no sense, People should not be allowed to vote about fundamental rights. I don’t care if it’s the federal government, state government or a small village. You don’t get to vote on this. If abortion is murder, then it’s murder and a majority of people voting otherwise doesn’t make it OK. If a woman should have the right to choose what she wants with her own body, then she has that right and a majority of people voting otherwise doesn’t make a restriction OK. We had this exact same debate over slavery before the Civil War. A bunch of people who were trying to put off the fundamental issue said “let’s let each state decide for itself”. It was called Popular Sovereignty. It doesn’t work because you cant let mob rule decide the fate of individuals.
