No, I’m afraid you’re confused about this. Most woke people are social liberals. Economically they’re out to make a buck like everybody else. There’s no contradiction. Personally I love woke and think socialism is terrible. Lots of folks like me around.

I am a political junkie just like you. Just like most people reading this. We spend a lot of our free time discussing politics which most people don’t. We are weird compared to most people. I’m willing to own that but you should as well.

1. I think it’s meaningless to poll how other Democrats might perform against Trump. Those polls can’t be accurate. We wouldn’t know until it happened. 2. The assassination attempt is going to give Trump a very temporary boost but no way is it going to last more than a few weeks, certainly not by the election. The debate disaster is far more problematic for Biden- but the polls have moved only a little. 3. All this talk about Biden quitting (he won’t) is affecting polling because it’s delaying the reality- voters still haven’t fully accepted the fact that they face a stark choice between Biden and Trump, either-or. When they do the polls will tighten further. In fact I expect that Biden might gain the slight edge at that point, sometime in September or October. 4. Several upcoming events between now and November will help Biden: cutting of interest rates, inflation receding further, border control continuing to tighten, Israel- Hamas ceasefire, and Biden’s new Supreme Court proposal. Still tons of time. I think Joe is primed for a big comeback.

I have a different definition than most. To me part of being an alpha means being classy.

Musk isn’t a baby. He can do what he wants. But I don’t think it’s a smart move. California is the heart of the pacific rim, and trade with Asia, which will dominate ALL trade in the 21st century. We’re a woke state and people will have to deal with that. We’re also the center of capitalism. If you want prosperity in the future this is the place to be.

I don’t have a direct quote to share. I have heard him in interviews agree with Trump that our crime problems are caused by undocumented immigrants (he calls them “illegal”.) I regard that as a bigoted approach. So that I am not misunderstood- not everyone who shares this view is a bigot. But politicians like Vance should know better.

What I expected. Not one rebuttal of the facts I presented. This why I rarely waste my time any more.

No. I would say that the folks who committed those crimes deserve to be punished. And that I would hope that they they don’t blame innocent people that had nothing to do with those crimes.

Using this logic freeways increase the number of fatal car accidents, so we should ban all freeways. It doesn’t make sense. Undocumented immigrants represent a net benefit to our society. That is my firm opinion and you’re welcome to disagree. But here’s a point that you can’t disagree with: any attempt at mass deportation, such as being proposed at this convention, will result in a far worse situation than anything you’re complaining about now.

Nope. I’m right about this. You can find flaws in any statistic but to conclude, despite an overwhelming number of studies on this issue that we really can’t make any conclusions is simply nonsense. The wishful thinking is yours Im afraid. And for what purpose? Why the urgent need to demonize these people? It’s sickening. Trump does it to gain votes. But why are you doing it?

Like you he blames undocumented immigrants as a group for criminal violence despite the fact that they commit less violent crimes by percentage than native born Americans. The collective blame of these poor people is a racist attack on the principles that make this country great.
