One of the key speakers last night at the RNC was Mark Robinson, the GOP candidate for government of North Carolina. Remember, the guy who calls gay people “filth”? He’s the one who recently said some people deserve killing.

True per polling but the election hasn’t happened yet. At this point in 2022 the polls looked dire too. Remember the red wave everyone confidently predicted?

No, this is completely wrong. The mainstream media in general has never used violent rhetoric against Trump. A few stray commentators have, and usually have gotten themselves in trouble for it. But when you try to pin it on the entire media that’s just false. And you continue to ignore the main point that Trump is the worst proponent of political violence of all. And that his statements are not a reaction to the media, or anyone else doing it first; he has been the instigator.

And if it is Biden, even if the odds are against him at the moment, I still think there’s a very good chance he will win. In the end are most rational Americans really going to vote for Trump? Maybe I’m naive but I think people just have too much sense to go down that path again.

I don’t think the right has the upper hand. We have a perceived weak candidate in Biden that’s all. On the issues, the public sides with liberals most of the time and that includes woke issues, most of which are neither ill-conceived or unnecessary or garbage.

But see, actual heroes are losers and suckers. So Trump wants nothing to do with them.

It didn’t start with Trump but he has been the worst proponent of it in American history. The fact that @RLLD ignores this destroys his entire argument. The small amount of violent rhetoric used with Trump as target cannot compare to the amount that Trump has used, nearly on a daily basis since 2015, against his opponents.

I make no predictions, I just have long term optimism because I love this country and ultimately trust its people, including you.

People make too much of this too. The Supreme Court can only move so far away from the general will of the public. When the public gets too pissed off about a decision (for example, Dred Scott or Dobbs) the reaction eventually destroys the power of the decision. Within 10 years of the Dred Scott decision there was no slavery in the USA. Within 20 years of Dobbs, abortion will be more accessible, I predict, than it was during the Roe years.

There’s always backlash. A few extremists take things too far (“defund the police” a perfect example) and then people react and push back the other way. But in the end we move forward anyhow. That’s been the history of this country. There has never been any aspect of woke and liberalism which hasn’t eventually succeeded.

Just about everything you wrote here is that exact opposite of the truth: 1. It is extremely easy to attack Trump’s policies and outcomes; they are dreadful and we do it all the time. 2. While a few liberal types have used unfortunate rhetoric that promotes violence, they are overwhelmed by the amount of conservatives who do so, particularly Donald Trump. 3. We can get into a more detailed discussion of the effectiveness of liberal policies vs conservative policies later. You will lose that argument as your position is extremely wrong.
