Way too many liberals I know are depressed. Snap out of it! We haven’t lost this election yet. And even if we do lose, Trump will screw things up so badly we’ll reverse it all in a couple of years. America is a liberal country, a woke country and that’s not going to change because a few idiots and backwards lookers have the upper hand for the moment. No need to be down, it will all work out.

Most people are doing better now than they were in 2020. But we are all still suffering because of Trump’s terrible decisions and policies that destroyed the Obama prosperity.

Only the current Republicans. I am a huge fan of traditional conservatism. If Ronald Reagan (my favorite modern President) were running I’d vote for him in a heartbeat. I don’t even mind some of the criticism of Biden. I’m not the biggest fan of big government. It’s the isolationist, anti-immigrant, anti-trade stuff that turns me off so much.

Maybe, but he should not want to be President. Because like Trump, his ideas are so awful that if he is ever President his legacy will be one of disaster, embarrassment and shame, and who would ever want to be remembered that way?

Whose feelings are hurt? And how embarrassing to be the heir apparent to Donald Trump. Hard to imagine a worse fate in politics.

Only if the Democrat wins. If Trump wins they will be sad and tragic for you. Pretty sure I will be fine but your life will be far worse.

Kamala is way smarter for sure but being smarter than Vance is hardly an accomplishment.

I don’t care about his earlier hypocrisy. What I care about is that he’s an awful human being with ideas as bad as the guy who chose him. What a terrible time we’re going through right now. I wish patriotic Americans would wake the fock up and realize what garbage these people are. So embarrassing for us.

My apologies, I was unaware. Thought your post was brilliant, especially your reference to Trayvon Martin. I wasn’t a participant in this forum at that time, I was at FBG but the racism there was bad enough so I can only imagine what it was like over here.

I don’t think he should go away. He has made better points in one post than about 90% of the people here including yourself. Perhaps take your own advice?

FTR: When I wrote that Trump is a wannabe dictator my reasoning was not his “dictator for a day” comment which I agree has been taken out of context and can be dismissed- it’s instead his admiration of Viktor Orban and his desire to emulate Orban’s transformation of Hungary into an authoritarian state. Orban is the latest in a series of right wing strong men that Trump has very publicly admired over the years. This concerns me greatly. I do not believe that this concern represents extremism on my part nor it is it inflammatory of me to bring it up. Orban is not Hitler. I would never compare him or any other modern “strong man” to Hitler. Comparing Trump to Hitler is IMO stupid and over the top and I would agree that it’s inflammatory. But I also have to note that Trump caused this comparison himself with his very specific rhetoric so evocative of the the Nazis. I don’t believe that pointing out Trump’s rhetoric, so long as I use exact quotes (which I did) represents extremism on my part nor is it inflammatory of me to bring it up. That is my position. If @Strikeor anyone else wants to accuse me of being extreme or “raising the temperature” then I challenge them to specifically refute the points I have explained in this post.

No of course not. But when he uses words like vermin and poison to describe people, the Hitler comparison is going to be made.

Also- as much I disagree with comparing Trump to Hitler, let’s not pretend that he didn’t have anything to do with that comparison. Nobody forced Trump to call undocumented immigrants “vermin” or say that they are “poisoning the blood of the country.” When he says crap like that people are going to go there.

See here’s the problem: you’re trying to conflate reasonable criticism (at least IMO) with “raising the temperature.” To me raising the temperature means saying stuff like “Trump is Hitler” or “Trump deserves to die.” I don’t believe that and I’ve always criticized those who say it. But I do believe the things I wrote that you responded to. Conservatives and Trump supporters don’t want us to “lower the temperature”; they want us to NORMALIZE Trump. And personally I’m not willing to do that.

If you had any credibility this is the point where you would lose all of it.

We don’t live in the Third Reich. If we did then I would support Von Stauffenberg and the rest. But we don’t.

I don’t believe he’s Hitler. I do think he’s a would be dictator. Not the same thing. Trump would like to be a Viktor Orban, an authoritarian, not a totalitarian. I think people who compare Trump to Hitler are foolish and frankly it’s dangerous and over the top to do so.

The answer to your question is no. He needs to be stopped by legal means. I don’t condone political violence. I don’t excuse it. Trump does both.
