I don’t want to take anything away from President Trump (this really is a tremendous achievement) but comparisons to Cyrus are just a bit over the top. If Cyrus had freed 20 Jews only it wouldn’t have been exactly noteworthy.

Never. We should fine them. And they should never be given the ability to become full citizens with the right to vote (their children can). But they should be allowed to stay.

And this post isn’t stupid but it’s fanatical. Yes hard working non violent undocumented immigrants should be in this country. We should welcome them in, help them come, and give them documents so that they are no longer undocumented. That is the centrist approach. Your opinion, and any one who agrees with you, is extremist.

Such a stupid post and once again demonstrates your lack of seriousness. The border was never “open” during the Biden years. (Open border by definition means anyone is free to cross over without being stopped.) It wasn’t as secure as it is now. But it wasn’t open. And they weren’t lying about it. It’s also irrelevant to what DHS is doing now but that’s a whole other topic.

So Trump announced on Truth Social not to worry it’s all gonna be good with China (in other words he’s gonna TACO again) and the market rebounds. See how that works?

Today is a great day in the history of the Trump presidency, I do not know how the peace deal will ultimately work out. And you all know what I think of Donald Trump; that hasn’t changed. Not at all. Minimum wage doesn’t work in certain industries: agriculture, construction, food service. In those industries you have to pay less to survive. By less are we talking about below a living wage? Hardly. If it was swarms of people wouldn’t come here. They come for a better life. They earn less than minimum wage but their children will not. Thats the key. Your comments about slavery shows an incredible ignorance of facts and history. Slavery means forced servitude. Chattel slavery, which was practiced in the United States, means that any children born of slaves are also slaves. None of this applies to our current agricultural workers being paid less than minimum wage. In addition your comments about the Democratic Party are ignorant as well. Though it’s true that, prior to 1916 the Democratic Party was largely conservative (and the Republicans liberal) and it’s also true that the Democrats remained the home of southern racists until around 1964, it is NOT true that the Democrats were ever pro-slavery outside of the Deep South. In fact, it the refusal of southern Democrats in 1860 to unify behind a northern Democrat, Stephen Douglas, with an anti-slavery platform, that allowed Abe Lincoln to get elected and brought about the Civil War. In that war plenty of northern Democrats fought for the Union.

Katie’s behavior in the last few weeks have really disappointed me. Nonetheless I would gladly vote for her if she is the candidate for governor as her views pretty much mirror mine. And as I wrote earlier I enjoyed meeting her a few years ago. These constant comments about her looks are extremely sexist and distasteful. If Katie was a man she would never be subjected to them. Unfortunately that is the society we live in.

Yeah you guys really don’t get it. Attempting to mass deport all undocumented immigrants isn’t “pulling off the band-aid.” It’s more like trying to pull off your right arm. It won’t work, and if it DID work you’d be far worse than you are now. Look you guys can scramble around and try to find justifications (“we’re willing to pay a little more”) or new solutions (“more Americans already here can do the work”) but it’s all pointless. Eventually you will come to the conclusion that you really don’t want to face but that I suspect deep down you already know is true: we need these undocumented immigrants to stay.

Where have you been, Eternal? Seems like you haven’t been in these parts for a while. Glad you’re back. Look I trust polling. There are always outliers and surprises but generally the pollsters get it right most of the time. In this case the polling is pretty overwhelming that the public blames Republicans. Not Democrats but the public: independents and even some conservatives. If you had the chance to read my earlier posts on this topic you’ll know I did NOT predict this. I thought it would be the exact opposite.

No doubt you got that list from the internet. It’s really stupid. The implication that they were all indicted because they were Republicans is completely asinine.

Well we’re not too far apart from each other I don’t think. Of course Palestinians are going to have to make a real effort here. I have to say that, as much as I sympathize with individual Palestinians, as a people they have screwed up and blown chances at a lasting peace and prosperity time after time after time. Their absolute best opportunity was in the early 90s. But they blew it. Now it’s going to be much harder.

Because Turkey ruled them for centuries with an iron fist and no mercy. After Turkey was defeated in World War I, Palestinians have sought their own state. Great Britain first and Israel second, being western democracies, refused to rule with an iron fist (because we in the west don’t do that.) So for the past 110 years or so Palestinians have lived in utter destitution with no economic hope. You combine that with religious extremism and you’re going to have terrorism. You want to get rid of the terrorism, you either act inhumanly, commit crimes against civilization to defeat it, or you try to provide these people a chance to achieve prosperity and self rule. Those are your choices. It’s the dilemma Israel has faced since the Zionist movement started. Can I guarantee to you that giving these folks a chance at independence is going to achieve peace? Of course not. It may very well go the way you predict with more terrorism. But I know that the alternative has not worked, has never worked, mainly because Israel is not willing to behave like the Ottoman Empire. Nor should they. If they did they would lose their identity as a civilized, western nation. And I’m pretty convinced it still wouldn’t work.

I want you to try and imagine if Obama had announced an Arab country training an Air Force base in Idaho. The internet would have exploded with stories about the New World Order taking over the country, Obama being a Muslim traitor, etc. Republicans would have gone absolutely crazy demanding investigations, his impeachment, etc.

Such a lame excuse. You guys will do anything to defend this guy. This is not a correction. It was not inevitable. It’s completely unnecessary. All of the tariffs have been stupid and unnecessary.
