Sigh. I guess when I wrote “candidate” I need to tell you I meant “presidential candidate.”. Maxine Waters is an awful human being. Democratic voters never chose her to be our nominee. No liberal here worships her or calls her “Mother Waters”. So take your whataboutism and shove it up your ass.

All of those are terrible acts. Blaming all undocumented immigrants for them, which is your go to, is an act of bigotry. Arguing that I am responsible for them because of my portion on undocumented immigrants is extreme and ugly and idiotic. Bringing them up in the context of this discussion is disgusting.

Name them. “You need to calm down” is pro-gay. That doesn’t make it anti-conservative. And “champagne problems” mentions “the patriarchy” which isn’t anti-conservative either. Swift is a liberal and has condemned Trump publicly. She is pro-choice. But this doesn’t get into her lyrics. So please name these “several anti-conservative songs”.

@Dizkneelande’s whataboutism is disgusting, @EternalShinyAndChrome’s attempt to justify it “this is what happens when you have a kangaroo court” is disgusting. JFC why can’t you guys just condemn this sh!t and call it a day? This isn’t a game. One of these people that Trump calls “the enemy” is going to get killed at some point.

Maybe read it again? I didn’t say there were no PEOPLE on the left that pulls this crap, I wrote there was no candidate on the Democratic side that pulls this crap (encouraging violence). And there isn’t. And almost no Republicans do it either. Only Trump. That was my point.

We don’t know that. There may be a sudden discovery that makes it come a lot sooner. But even if it takes decades it’s a better answer than solar or any other alternative, IMO.

If we conquer nuclear fusion the investment will be well worth it. Infinite wealth and profit.

First off we need to acknowledge that it’s not fake. Rational people already do. Second, my own solution is not especially popular with the green crowd. My solution is two fold: First, I agree with @supermike80 that we need to adapt to the situation at hand. But this will require a great deal of government planning and spending. We need to quadruple FEMA’s budget or more (Trump wants to cut it.) We need to set up new agencies designed to cope with emergencies before they occur. And we need to strongly consider the logic of trying to rebuild coastal cities that are eventually doomed when the waters rise. And we may need to guarantee insurance companies otherwise very soon home insurance will be impossible to afford. Second, and more importantly, I believe we need to pour trillions of dollars, whatever it costs, into developing nuclear fusion as quickly as possible. We need to commit to a Manhattan Project like effort, or the space program. Nothing else comes close to importance. I don’t understand why we haven’t done this already.

Trump still ahead by a few points, within the margin of error, in most of the swing states, and obviously that is more important than the overall popular vote. Still even those numbers have tightened since the conviction. I am NOT predicting a Biden win- not yet. But about a month ago I wrote here that the odds had to favor Trump. Now I think it’s about even.

And in case anyone cares, I am very much opposed to the Green New Deal. Terrible set of ideas that will never work. But we can’t just do nothing. And we can’t do worse than nothing (Trump’s idea of drill drill drill.)

Obviously the latest Fox poll is really good news for Biden. Hopefully it’s just the beginning.
