But according to Raider and Strike they’re not conservative. Neither is Voltaire apparently. -

My feelings are hurt. Why? I offer my opinion. I know many of you disagree. But I don’t try to insult anyone personally. Why am I insufferable? -

I understand sanctuary cities and support them. Sanctuary cities have nothing to do with protecting violent felons. -

It normally does result in more crime. In the case of these folks it doesn’t because they work so many hours and are terrified of deportation. But let’s be clear: the mass immigration we had in the early 20th century which produced my forefathers (and perhaps yours as well) resulted in intense poverty and crime in the large cities of this country. But the overall result was positive; it always is. So even if new immigration, legal or otherwise, resulted in greater crime, I would still be for it. -

1. I don’t group conservatives and MAGA people together. There are many conservative ideas I like and support. I like and support very few MAGA ideas. I have both conservatives and MAGA people among my closest friends and family. I love them and they are good people. I don’t agree with many of their ideas, especially the MAGA folks. But unless one is a radical extremist of some sort (very few Americans are) bad ideas doesn’t make one a bad person, and vice versa for good ideas. 2. Do you know why I hire day laborers, many of whom are probably undocumented (I don’t ask)? Because they’re reliable. I know where to find them, they quote a price, I pay it, they get the job done. I feel terrible about homeless people and I’ve donated plenty of money to shelters. I want to help them anyway I can. But as workers they’re not reliable. I would never personally give a homeless person cash because most of the time they will use it on drugs or alcohol. That’s a sad truth. They need help, need to clean up, then maybe they can work. But I’m not hiring them off the street. 3. Finally, when I hire undocumented people I am not hiring felons. Coming here without legal papers is not a felony; it’s a misdemeanor. -

Most lopsided pro-conservative bill on border issues in my lifetime. But they still don’t want it. Trump wants a crisis at the border, unsolved for the election. That’s the bottom line. -

Hilarious. ends catch and release. No amnesty for dreamers. Money for Israel which many Democrats are uneasy about so long as Netanyahu is in charge. But yeah it’s a Democrat wish list. Only in Trumpland. -

Thank you, agreed. But let’s get to what’s really going on here: 1. the bill could help Biden: 2. the bill could hurt Trump. 3. Congress is controlled by Republicans. 4. Therefore the bill will not pass. It’s smart politics for the Democrats to attack Trump over this, and I’ll continue to do so, but in all honesty this sort of agreement NEVER happens in a Presidential election year. If you want a bipartisan deal of this sort, you need to get it done on the first year AFTER the election. That’s your window. Otherwise all of these dudes on both sides are too interested in pleasing their base to ever be willing to work with the other side, whom they have to castigate as the enemy in order to retain or grow their power. That’s our system. It kind of sucks but I’ve no idea how to fix it. -
Your nickname for Mrs Clinton indicates you’ve learned far less than I have. What I’ve written here is believed by a whole lot of people who look at this closely, conservatives and liberals alike. It’s what I think will happen but I make no guarantees. It’s going to be a very close election.

If his primary goal is ultimately to avoid regulating the internet, he should support Republicans.

One big worry for Biden in that poll: the Israel-Gaza thing needs to go away by summer. It can’t be going on the way it is now. Otherwise Biden might lose Michigan due to the Muslim population there and he won’t get all the young people he needs. Bottom line: Israel can’t be in the news when the election happens.
-
I sure hope you’re right. At the last secret Jewish meeting a couple of weeks ago, George Soros himself assured me “don’t worry, I got this.” My response was “where’s my focking check?”
-
He will win. The most important thing that needs to happen is that people have to finally understand is that it’s a binary choice between Biden and Trump. Once they get that it will change attitudes. The second most important thing is the economy. It’s much better but that hasn’t reached public opinion yet. I think it will. There are lots of other reasons to be optimistic for Biden which I can get into later but those are, IMO, the main two.
-
It’s not good. Biden is not going to be replaced. There’s no point in talking about it. Biden vs Trump is the race that’s going to happen. I still think that Biden is going to win for various reasons that I’ve gone into many times here: But right now these polls don’t look good. If the American people want Trump to come back so be it.

In response to your 4 items: 1. I don’t care whether you or Bill Maher or whomever makes this argument it’s not accurate. The only significant difference between Trump and Biden years in terms of enforcement that has had any effect is Remain in Mexico and it would have been thrown out by the courts by now even if Trump had been re-elected. Trump’s other policies, beyond being inhumane and cruel, were also completely ineffective. If Trump was President right now we would be facing the exact same crisis at the border and he would be asking Congress for the exact same powers that Biden is asking for- except that his proposals would be a lot crueler and a lot less effective. 2. Texas is not enforcing US immigration policy. Barbed wires in rivers plays no part in US policy, never has, and never should. Texas is acting as a rogue agent in many ways and needs to be stopped. 3. I would have voted for that bill and many Democrats did. The majority that did not argued that there should be no new deportation laws on the books without comprehensive immigration reform, a broader argument which I also generally agree with. Your interpretation that they are for open borders is false and extreme. 4. Of course undocumented immigrants need health care. There are around 15 million of these people. Without healthcare they can be a public health risk, particularly when it comes to tuberculosis. Every visit to the ER costs us far more as taxpayers than if we simply gave them access, this is just common sense. We would save tons of money by doing this. -

Because it was good for America, because it strengthened the economy. This new deal apparently has no amnesty or path to citizenship, which is unfortunate. But let’s be very clear: if Congress passed a bill giving immediate amnesty and full citizenship to every undocumented person living here without any kind of additional border security, it would still have a net very positive economic effect for this country. -

This is a legitimate argument. I don’t agree with it at all but it’s not hateful, bigoted or xenophobic. -

It’s frustrating to me because I know that most of you who disagree with me on this subject are good people. You don’t like that these folks are breaking our laws by coming here and you think they are an economic burden. I get that. I disagree as to the second part but I get your position. What I don’t get is how you don’t have sympathy for them and how you are eager to label them all violent criminals. That’s the bigoted, hateful part. I don’t understand it. Americans are better than this. -

None of that applies. Yes these people are breaking our laws by coming here. But almost all of them are destitute and looking for a better life. They’re not out to harm us, they’re not out to invade us. Seriously how can you guys see them as villains?
