Your points here are not completely wrong. There have been plenty of flaws with the way Democrats have handled things. I disagree with you that they have made things worse. I think spending money has, overall, made things much better. Just not fast enough, because (a) not enough has been spent and (b) a lot of it has been spent stupidly. But by far the biggest part you got wrong is what I bolded: “doing it the way the Republicans suggest.” The problem is they don’t suggest anything, not anymore. There are no Jack Kemps in the GOP, haven’t been for years. All the Republicans under Trump do is oppose. They’re against all of it and have no helpful counter proposals. Trump, as I wrote, wants to give more power to the police.

More federal spending in general in the inner cities: Biden and the Democrats are in favor, Trump and the Republicans are opposed. 2. Federal regulations in order to combat systemic racism by police in this country: Biden and the Democrats are in favor; Trump and the Republicans are opposed. (In addition Trump wants to move in the opposite direction by giving cops a “free hand” to do whatever they want.) 4. Federal regulation in order to combat several southern states attempts to weaken the Voting Rights Act in order to weaken black voting: Biden and the Democrats are in favor, Trump and the Republicans are opposed.

And you know why it’s so many times? Because conservatives let him get away with it every time. No matter what the guy does you blindly support him anyhow. There is no political figure in American history who has gotten away with more corruption and illegal acts than Donald Trump and it’s not even close. But I think it’s a fool’s errand to attempt to analyze Trump’s comments too closely. Your views on the modern day Democratic Party remain skewed and inaccurate. Much as I detest Trump, and hope he loses, the question is offensive. Black people are not monolithic. Some of them are conservative. Some of them agree with Trump on immigration, or nationalism, or his economic policy, or all of it. Also, not every black person votes based primarily on the question, “what have you done for black people?” You would never assume a white person votes based on “what have you done for white people?” (Well, @Cdub100 might, but most wouldn’t.)

First off my point was that the Squad is irrelevant. Fox News makes a bigger deal out of them than Democrats do. There have always been leftist Democrats and they have always been a minority. I know you want to see it some other way, but all you have to do is look at Bernie Sanders’ proposals over the last decade and see how many of them have actually been enacted. I will tell you: none. Even when the Democrats have had power, what have they accomplished? Moderate liberal centrist stuff. That’s it. No socialism, nothing even close. But you made another gross error by trying to compare our socialists like AOC or Bernie with Stalin and Mao. The leftists in our country are Social Democrats, Mensheviks. Democracy being the key. If they had lived in Russia they would have opposed Stalin and they would have been liquidated. Rather than compare them to Communist murderers it is far more apt to compare them to the murdered.

The only reason for my “sad attempt” is because some of the posts here seem so positive of an acquittal. Otherwise I wouldn’t have offered. But I doubt either of your alternatives is going to happen. He’s either going to be convicted on the felonies (I believe there are 34 of them) or a hung jury with one or two people holding out. Those are pretty much the only outcomes. I suspect a conviction.
