She does a gospel song on her new album. It’s actually my favorite song on the album:

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

Look it wasn’t my intention to spread some kind of “narrative”. I related what happened to a friend of mine. To be fair this incident occurred over 20 years ago so I will concede the possibility that things have changed in Los Angeles. I live in Orange County and I am not there as often as I used to be. But I do know that among black friends of mine the perception is still there that the police cannot be trusted. I find that so sad. I’ve never once had to fear police. I have some close friends who are police and I’m grateful to them. I generally “back the Blue” and I have donated my time and money to local police charity functions. But I‘m not black or Latino and I believe my perspective would be different if I were, justifiably so.

Well that’s one way of dismissing it. Examples of me lying?

Hunter Biden to Sue Fox News

I don’t have the details yet but this strikes me as a BS lawsuit. Does anyone remember the film The People Vs Larry Flynt? If Hustler Magazine was able to repeat false rumours about Jerry Falwell, why can’t Fox do the same about Hunter Biden? Isn’t it the same principle? On the other hand, Carol Burnett was successful years ago in her suit against The National Enquirer. I admit I really don’t understand libel laws very well. One thing I know for sure: Hunter’s new attorney. Mark Gallegos, is super slimy.

Anecdotes don’t matter in terms of statistics. But he asked me to define unfair treatment at the hands of police so I offered an example that I witnessed.

Yes. That is exactly what happened.

"Filmmaker" who filmed Ashli Babbitt's murder gets 6 years

Trump just issued a four word message in response to the student protests: “STOP THE PROTESTS NOW!” He wants the police to come in and use whatever force they think they need to, even though most of the protests are peaceful. Screw the students’ rights. The only rights that matter are those of middle aged angry white guys, or young white supramecist fascists like Kyle Rittenhouse. They’re allowed to do whatever they want. Minorities and liberal students, not so much.

Can you imagine what the result would have been if January 6 had been a black riot? Say on behalf of President Obama? If Black protestors had stormed the Capitol they wouldn’t be in prison and they wouldn’t be sending cases to the Supreme Court. They’d all be dead.

But see- that law only applies to minorities: black activists, students protesting for Palestinians, etc. it was never meant to apply to white right wingers.

Also with regard to police arresting minorities and dragging them away: keep in mind that we have a major Presidential candidate who is publicly calling for the immediate arrest and deportation of millions of undocumented immigrants, and at the same time wants to give police full immunity from their actions. Try to consider what the results of these two proposals will be should they ever come to pass.

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

At first they didn’t say anything. They grabbed him and handcuffed him in front of his kids and put him in a police car. He didn’t struggle though he did keep asking “what’s going on?” His wife was screaming. Later on I learned they held him for several hours before releasing him. This treatment, in parts of Los Angeles, is not unusual.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is going to run as independent.

You keep using this nickname for Biden but it really describes Trump far more accurately.

Glad this guy is in prison where he belongs.

    Beyonce's Country Song

It’s one of the best songs of the year. Not sure which album is better, Beyonce or Taylor Swift. Both amazing.
  15. Good point. Given the evidence Trump ought to change his plea to guilty. What defense can he possibly offer?

I am opposed to all of the examples you listed. They’re really not relevant to this discussion, however.

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

Not even sure where to start. Driving in a wealthy neighborhood? Followed by security in department stores? Dragged away by police because there was a report of a robbery in the area? (This last one I personally witnessed a few years back- a black friend of mine invited me to a picnic with his family at Echo Park in Los Angeles and a couple cops came up and grabbed him and handcuffed him because he matched the description of an armed robber- the description was “black man”.) These are abuses that black people have to deal with on a daily basis.

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

Not quite. It’s part of a bigger pattern in which innocent black people who have committed no crime are also stopped and harassed by police in percentages much larger than the general population.

Obviously because women don’t commit crimes in the same numbers men do. Your point seems to be that these men are committing crimes. I’ve never argued otherwise.
  20. According to you if the police behave badly in this situation, the protestors instigated it. When the police behave badly against young black men, the young black men instigated it. You seem incapable of blaming the police in any given situation. Unless, perhaps, the death of Ashli Babbitt?

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

I’m not looking for anything. Personally I wish the police were as colorblind as most of you guys seem to think they are.
  22. When the ACLU condemns how the police are acting, that should be a sign to everyone that the police are acting badly. The ACLU almost never gets this stuff wrong (or nearly anything IMO).
  23. Sure: you have to wait a few minutes until the 4 minute mark. Here’s another: https://youtu.be/FlVq2t6RhzI?si=Ffqtsk9YRxLS7ceL
  24. IF they break the laws, disperse them, arrest them. Thats fine. Anybody who is violent, put them away, got no problem with that. If they’re yelling hateful rhetoric disperse them but don’t arrest unless they physically resist. But from everything I’m reading, a lot of the times the police are actually instigating the violence- again, similar to the Vietnam War protests.
  25. And I could give you interviews from MSNBC and CNN with students, telling you that they don’t have anything to do with the hate speech. I posted you a story written by a Jewish protester. Did you believe that? We need to be very careful here or there’s going to be another Kent State massacre.
