  1. The solution in this case is for Israel to stop pulling the crap they’re pulling. Stop killing children, stop preventing aid to Gaza, stop allowing Jewish settlers to go crazy, stop with the settlements altogether, and work towards establishing a Palestinian state. That will stop the protests, make Israel safer, and ultimately defeat Hamas.
  2. Trump doesn’t need to plan naps. The trial has started so he’s probably nodding off right now.
  3. I never mentioned slavery. You did. The issue of white oppression of the third world is a separate issue from slavery and is actually more contemporary.
  4. Slightly ahead. The polls will swing back and forth until Labor Day. At that point I expect Biden to take a small but decisive lead that will last until the end.
  5. I agree. But unfortunately even if Trump is silenced the right wing media, led by Fox News, won’t be. So the danger will continue nonetheless.
  6. I didn’t say that all the guilt was justified. I only wrote that this is how liberal white students feel. Do you deny they feel this way? The question of justification is one we can debate elsewhere if you’d like.
  7. Of course they’re in danger. The death threats have already come and they’re no joke. Who knows what some nut is going to do- look what happened to Paul Pelosi. Trump encourages violence among his followers. The judge has delayed this, IMO, because he is concerned that putting Trump in jail might only make things worse. But Trump has committed contempt and really does deserve a jail cell. So it’s a tough decision.
  8. You’re never going to find those clips, because the students I mentioned aren’t in leadership roles and they tend to go along with the leadership because they (the leaders) are the ones organizing the protests and the students I am discussing want to be part of the protests. And why are they protesting this when they could be preferring civilians being killed elsewhere? Two reasons, IMO: first because it’s in the news. Second, just as with Apartheid in the 80s, Israel represents the western white oppressor of the Third World (there is much irony to this point but it would take too long to discuss it here. Nonetheless, the fact is that liberal students tend to feel guilty about how white people in general have treated the rest of the world throughout history.) None of this is new; we saw it all during the Vietnam War protests. Keep in mind that the leaders of those protests were radical leftists who openly advocated for a violent revolution in this country and a socialist regime along the lines of Maoist China. But most of the students who took part just wanted the war to end. Nonetheless they shouted radical slogans. When the war petered out the radical leaders found themselves without any followers. My theory is that if the Gaza war ended tomorrow, so would these protests. The ones shouting anti-Semitic slogans, praising Hamas and wearing masks would still be around but they would number in the dozens, not thousands. The large bulk of students involved would be back in class.
  9. I can only say that I honestly believe that Trump is guilty of most of the crimes he has been accused of, and therefore the purpose of the indictments is not political but justice.
  10. Trump’s lawyers argument seems to be that we should rely on impeachment. But impeachment has become a political act (maybe it always was.) At this point very few senators from the same party as the President is ever going to vote to impeach any President- and that basically means that impeachment is for show only and will never result in a removal. Therefore it seems to me that if we give a President immunity for all official acts we are giving him or her unlimited power. And I don’t think that’s what the Founders envisioned. Again, I’m neither a lawyer nor a Constitutional scholar but this seems like common sense to me.
  11. Maybe not in those instances but I don’t think a President should be immune from prosecution for all official acts. For example, part of Nixon’s crime was using the FBI and Justice Department to cover up the Watergate scandal. I don’t think anyone could argue that using the FBI is a private act,
  12. You seem to ignore the possibility of a 5th group in addition to the ones you mentioned: that is: students who are reasonably well educated on this issue, who are not pro-Hamas, not anti-Semitic , not anarchist, not Communist, who know why they are there: because they are opposed to the current polices of the Netanyahu government and specifically the actions in Gaza. My strong suspicion is the this 5th group represents the majority of students who are involved in these protests.
  13. This testimony by Pecker is so damning, that the major question becomes why wasn’t Trump prosecuted before this? And why did the feds choose not to prosecute him? I know some of you think Trump has been treated unfairly but it seems like the opposite to me: he gets away with crap nobody else would.

If you are a male that dates a biological man, are you gay?

OK. Well then if we’re both still posting here in a few years we can revisit it. I don’t think liberalism is evil- or conservatism for that matter. I think evil, in terms of politics, should be reserved for truly awful stuff like Communism, fascism, radical Islam, etc. Most American politics don’t fall into that. Even nativism and MAGA, which i detest, doesn’t approach the evil meter. I used to see a t-shirt around that read “I disagree with you but I don’t think you’re Hitler.” Basically my mantra.

    Trump INDICTED

Show what I have about what?
  16. The protests have now spread to hundreds of college campuses all over the place. There hasn’t been this many protests since the Vietnam War. I don’t think that trying to label all of these students as pro-Hamas, anti-Semitic racists is going to fly any longer. There’s too many.

    Trump INDICTED

Kind of funny for you to be slamming a woman for her intelligence when she’s about a thousand times brighter and more educated on the law than you’ve ever demonstrated here.

Barrett seems to suggest they could immunize official acts of the President but not private acts, and that would allow the court case to continue?

    Trump INDICTED

This is already a huge victory for Trump. The Court won’t make a decision until July and they may very well throw it back. Either way no trial before the election which is all Trump wanted.

    Weinstein's Conviction Overturned

He’s not. He has to serve 16 years at least in California. It means a new trial in New York but he will be in prison the whole time. Even if Weinstein were to be acquitted in New York he will most likely die in prison. He’s not a well man.

    Trump INDICTED

Sure sounds like Alito wants to give Trump immunity.

You and others keep trying to attack me for claiming I’m some sort of expert on this subject. My position is based on principle.

If you are a male that dates a biological man, are you gay?

Probably both. I’d still have a libertarian stance (I always do on all medical decisions except those that affect public health) but I’d also wish more was done to prevent it- but socially and culturally, not legally: But I’m skeptical this will be the case.
