It’s revealing that all 3 of your points are about transgenders. 99% of liberals don’t think about this issue at all unless confronted with it by angry conservatives. Without getting into detail about it most of us just want everyone to be loved and respected and not mistreated for who they are or who they want to be. Any and all policy concerns are rooted in that principle.
-
I feel like this is basically true of the conservative movement in the last decade or so, in the age of Trump. Nicolle Wallace calls it “living on Earth 2”. They’re not in the same reality as the rest of us.
-
This is not my argument. It’s one that I don’t subscribe to. I don’t buy into the “it happened on his watch” thing. It’s lazy IMO. I think Trump deserves blame for specific things that he did and didn’t do, detailed in the 3 articles I linked (despite @Strike’s disclaimer.)

He didn’t destroy them but his long inexplicable delay in using the power at his disposal made them far worse. Trump’s response to Covid must go down as the worst response of any President to a crisis in American history, no exceptions, not even James Buchanan or Herbert Hoover. He basically froze for months, denied the crisis, refused to take any positive action, tried to lay it on the states, tried to blame anyone he could (including, typically, a racist attack against the Chinese.) Because of operation Warp Speed late in his term he doesn’t get a total F but he does get a D-. His inaction led to the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. Since he has been out of office, his refusal to whole-heartedly embrace the vaccines and his willingness to lend his name to crackpot, anti-vaccine conspiracy theories have caused the deaths of many more people, most of whom were his followers. So tragic, stupid and unnecessary.

Based on your comments here you and I are so far removed on these subjects that I don’t know if it makes any sense to engage in further discussion. But I will try: Yes I believe that our justice system, and life here in general, has been historically unfair to certain groups of minorities in this country. I don’t regard that belief as “excrement”. It’s based on facts and history. It’s pretty insulting to use that word to describe it. People are not indoctrinated with these facts. No one is “going after” Trump. He’s been charged in several court cases for committing actual crimes. I believe he committed them. Trump is not being unfairly treated (except for the fact that he is receiving far more lenient treatment than you or I would- in that sense and that sense alone he is being unfairly treated.)
-
Again you’re speaking in generalities, and I really have no idea what you’re referring to. It would help if you wrote “on such and such date Joe Biden committed this act and it caused this painful outcome.”
-
The first link is to an opinion piece: The author offers a pov, one that I disagree with, but it certainly doesn’t back up a single one of your statements. The second link is focused solely on the New York hush money case. Not sure how that’s even relevant. And again it’s reporting certain people’s opinions, no facts are presented. Making the claim that the Georgia case is a political persecution, and that the system is being “wildly abused” are pretty serious charges and if you want me to take you seriously you need evidence to back it up.
-
So if I don’t accept your narrative I don’t care about people? Again stop worrying about my biases and what I care about and present some facts to support your positions.
-
If it’s real you have to prove it, show some evidence. Forget bias, present some facts.
-
Again “when Biden has harmed so many”- are you referring to his policies? Or something more nefarious? If it’s the first then I respectfully disagree the you, and we can have that debate. If it’s the second then once again you’re trapped in MAGA fantasyland.
-
Many of your comments here are based on no reality, actually a fantasy they exists only in MAGAland. For example: “a system being wildly abused” ”this is…emphatically…political persecution” ”not unlike she is doing (gamesmanship)” “I object to her being extorted into it” NONE of this is real. NONE of it is related, in any way, to what is actually happening.
-
I won’t try to tell you anything. It’s useless. But I would suggest an Econ101 class might help you out.
-
I’m not responding to your question because it’s a stupid argument, revisionist history. Trump can argue in court if he wants that he truly believed the votes were there. It won’t fly; too many of his former allies will contradict him. He’s going down for this.
-
OK I just read more about this so-called story: https://www.newsweek.com/fani-willis-told-recuse-donald-trump-georgia-case-harrison-floyd-1887178 the whole accusation is really flimsy. The tape is a conversation related to an unrelated case. It’s a felony to record it in Maryland (not in Georgia) and we don’t even know if Fani actually did it. The guy making the accusation and threat, a MAGA Trump ally, proves himself a moron and a racist by calling Fani Willis a “DEI hire”- code for she’s black and therefore incompetent. Embarrassing for Newsweek to even run with this story. What has happened to that once proud magazine? Anyhow the whole thing sounds like total BS as usual; not surprised @Strike would run with it. Sorry guys Trump committed a major felony here. He is not going to be able to weasel out of it. There will be a trial, probably after the election, he will convicted and go to prison where he belongs.
-
What crap. She’s prosecuting Trump because he committed a crime. He’s on tape. I don’t understand you guys at all. This is not a political prosecution, she’s not working with Biden. And why the Fock should she recuse herself?
-
Maybe you should go listen to the tape.
-
So is it good or bad for our economy when more of our products are consumed?
-
Yes. He tried to get the Secretary of State to come up with 11,000 more votes so he could challenge the outcome. That’s illegal. He’s on tape. That should be enough to put him away.
-
But even if it was true it would be nonsense, just like all the rest of these attacks against Fani Willis. What does any of it have to do with the fact that Trump committed a pretty serious crime by trying to cheat in an election? What absolutely makes me crazy is that we have the focker on tape and we all heard it THREE YEARS AGO and there’s still no trial? Delay delay delay, go after the black woman attorney. Why isn’t Trump’s ass in jail already? This should have happened long since.

To be fair Democrats asked these questions. That’s the thing about great job reports: the President takes credit and the other party looks for ways to pick them apart. My own belief is that (a) Presidents have very little to do with it one way or another and (b) good news is good news.

Another fast food place closes in CA same day as minimum wage goes to $20

With you? What’s the point? -
Apparently for @Strike if Trump says it it must be true.
-
Actually I do: Health care 73,000 Government 71,000 Hospitality 50,000 Construction 40,000 Go ahead and pick it apart if you want. Seems pretty good though. Expectations were 200,000 and it turned out to be 300,000
-
Why don’t you think the jobs added, exceeding all expectations, is good news?
