Do you think asking this question twice makes it more pertinent? Perhaps you should ask it a third or fourth time? He hasn’t, IMO, because for a Democrat there is no political gain to doing so unless it’s tied to overall immigration reform, which Republicans will not accept so there’s no way to get that done. Now however I don’t think he has any choice- and if you’re paying attention to the last few days Biden is moving on this issue.

In California we had Playboy and Penthouse back issues but no Hustler. And no gay porn outside of the video section- you could get just about anything there. (only high school though; middle school was more limited.)

I didn’t miscalculate it. I expressed my beliefs about what America should be about and I continue to hold those beliefs. But we’ve reached crisis mode so now we have to act in an emergency in ways that we didn’t have to act before.

1. Family separation. I don’t believe in that. 2. I’m not worried about you or anyone else who thinks like you- you’re never going to vote for Biden anyhow. I’m concerned about the independent voter who doesn’t think about this issue unless it’s an emergency- and right now it’s an emergency. We need to remove it from emergency status so that they focus on other issues at the ballot box. Can that be done in 6 months? I don’t know. But they’d better try.

I think in general we can. 2016 was an outlier, Trump pulled off the equivalent of a straight flush. In general most polls can be trusted and turn out to be pretty accurate. That being said there is, I believe, a huge caveat in current polling between Biden and Trump, which is that the public is not yet confronted with the reality of that binary matchup. Once they are, starting around March or so, I predict the results will be quite different. If they’re not, if Trump is still leading by 10 points in Michigan and 5 points in Georgia, then as a Democrat (and even more so as one who believes that a 2nd Trump presidency will be terrible for this country) I really will start to panic. Not now though.

The Dobbs decision is the first that comes to mind. There was no need to codify Roe because it’s part of the Constitution, inherent in the right to privacy. Conservatives decided on their own to make it a states rights issue. They created law by doing so, similar to the Dred Scott decision.

This is an inaccurate headline. It bans the sale of NEW gas powered lawn equipment, not their use. I’m indifferent to it. We need to get off carbon based energy for sure but the way to do that is to produce new energy sources rather than try to ban the old ones. But it’s not an outrageous proposal.

I’m not trying to troll. I’ve written before that I approve very much of most woke ideas, which are about treating everyone with dignity and respect. I like living in a woke society and I’d like our schools to have more of this, not less. And yes I’m dead serious. Are there exceptions when woke can go too far? Sure, and you guys love pointing them out. When you do I will probably agree with you in that particular instance. But overall what are we talking about when it comes to woke? Respect for gays and trans. The Me Too movement. Acknowledging the dangers of man-made climate change. Teaching the truth about the history of American race relations, and recognizing that some institutional racism still exists today. These are all good positive things. I’m for them, and I want woke to win out.

Question for you: I’m not a Christian, but my understanding is that Jesus never mentioned abortion in the New Testament. Am I correct?
