I really don’t like Gavin Newsom. He’s intelligent, I agree with him on most issues, he’d probably make a good President. But there is something so slippery and sleazy about him. I just don’t trust the guy. DeSantis is competent but I can’t stand him. I have no idea whether or not his anti-woke obsession is real or contrived but either way it’s nauseating to me. Even so I would have supported DeSantis if He truly could challenge Trump.

Certainly better than some of the other names I’ve been called this morning. But still rather ironic that any Trump supporter would call anyone else sheep. Checked your wool lately?

In most ways we absolutely are. I don’t think it’s up for too much debate, to tell you the truth.

I’m opposed to nativism, nationalism, anti-globalism, tariffs, anti-free trade, anti-immigration. I love woke and political correctness. I believe in teaching history accurately. I think climate change is our biggest concern. I love NATO and the post WWII order. I’m extremely pro-choice. On the conservative side, I’m pro-capitalism, believe that less government on the whole is generally better, believe in less restrictions and taxation for small businesses. There’s plenty more but that should cover it for now.

I don’t regard myself a zealot by any means. But I also don’t regard any politician as my enemy. That includes Trump. I oppose his politics very strongly. But Putin is my enemy. Hamas is my enemy. Murderers, rapists, etc. Not American politicians. I also do not assume corruption unless it’s proven. I have no problem with an investigation of Hunter’s activities. I have a problem with the way they’re going about it.

I have no idea where you’re going with this. Let’s backtrack: I don’t accept that conservatism equals wisdom. Amd I absolutely reject that the conservative obsession with and antipathy towards transsexuals is a sign of wisdom, that’s the whole of my position.

It’s absolutely true that being married, and having children, makes most people wiser and more responsible. No, and this is a misconception you need to lose. Many many Democrats back in the day were racist. Far more Democrats than Republicans back then were racist. But they were conservative not liberal.

Wasn’t the special counsel appointed because Trump fired Comey? And wasn’t it Republicans that appointed the special counsel? It’s important to not rewrite history.

I had to work. Anyhow I made my argument. I don’t see the need to repeat myself. But I would like to point out a trend when it comes to political correctness/woke: eventually my side always wins. For example back in the day a lot of white people went around wearing blackface. There was even a popular radio and TV show, Amos and Andy. Then some blacks and liberals started complaining about it. The reaction was exactly the same reaction you read in this thread: defensive, denying there was anything wrong with it. Then there would be a few blacks who would come out and say they didn’t care, they weren’t offended, etc. And angry whites would use these blacks as evidence to say “see? You’re making a fuss over nothing!” But guess what? Nobody wears blackface anymore. Because the liberals won out. And that’s the way it should be, and the way it will be for gays and trans, and for red paint too, and all the rest of it. You need to realize this. If you find yourself opposing these changes, then you’re on the wrong side of history.
