The Young Turks: Gallup Polls Indicate America's Trust In Media At Historic Low
The Real timschochet replied to Blue Horseshoe's topic in The Geek Club
I don’t agree with him. I think he has strong motives to attack the media. I have no reason to doubt his poll numbers however. I always found Cenk to be a likable, stand up guy, but I strongly disagree with his politics. I feel much the same way about you. -
That’s not Hamas. I consistently hear that number on American media. Hamas has reported a much higher number. But truth be told, whether it’s actually 800 or 4000 doesn’t make much difference in how I feel about it.

The Young Turks: Gallup Polls Indicate America's Trust In Media At Historic Low
The Real timschochet replied to Blue Horseshoe's topic in The Geek Club
I’m neither. I am one of the 32% and I’m convinced I’m right and that the majority is wrong. Furthermore I think you and many others are being manipulated by folks who make money and gain power by attacking the media. -
3,000 Palestinian children are dead. Much of the responsibility is with Hamas. They continue to have their headquarters in civilian areas, at hospitals and schools. They care little about the people they claim to be fighting for. They are evil scum. Even so, for me this is too high a price to pay for Israel to get its vengeance (using Netanyahu’s words.) I couldn’t do it. I can’t approve of it.

Democrats, This Is What You Wanted!

Trannies, illegals and blacks, oh my! -
Because I believe it will make it more difficult for criminals to obtain guns. Not impossible certainly, but more difficult. And that should be the goal.
-
Nope. I’m not in favor of mandatory sentencing, Each situation is different. I believe in giving prosecutors and judges as wide an ability to determine punishment as possible.
-
Utah has owned Oregon the last couple of years but not today. It’s all Ducks. They look really impressive so far.
-
When? I don’t believe they have ever commented on registration or background checks. Have they?
-
OK, I suppose I’m going to have to repeat this for the 5th time or so today: I don’t want to take any guns away. I want federal registration, universal background checks, federal red flag laws. I don’t want to seize any guns and none of the items I want is a violation of the 2nd Amendment. In fact, a national registration of all firearms would be in keeping with the intent of the 2nd to have a “well-regulated” militia.
-
A) Obviously bad guys ignore laws they don’t like. The purpose of laws is to make that more difficult for them. B.) I don’t blame anyone. And I’m not trying to punish anyone.
-
But that’s not MY logic. I don’t want to make any guns illegal.
-
I understand why. I’ve been talking to conservatives about this for years. I get their viewpoint on this issue. I just disagree with it.
-
And I’m not. I want anyone who wants to own a gun to own one. So long as you’re a law abiding citizen. Including AR-15s. I might have banned them at the beginning but it’s too late now. I just want to keep them away from bad guys and conservatives won’t let me do that. And that’s the bottom line.
-
Yes the way to do that is full registration of all guns, universal background checks, and federal red flag laws. We libs can’t do it by ourselves. You guys are the problem not us .
-
A guy with a badge for sure. Some dumb fock with a gun- stay the hell away.
-
Oh bullsh!t. There is nobody more emotional than you conservative snowflakes these days. You’re all such a bunch of whiners. And you’ve got the anti-science side sewed up.
-
My firm impression is that the people with the least understanding of the intent of the 2nd Amendment are pro NRA gun nuts.
-
I’m not afraid of guns. I just don’t think that some of them, like AR-15s, serve any useful purpose in society. But it’s too late now.
-
Okay then. I certainly will. (Oops! Just ignore the big word I just wrote that starts with a c. What I meant is I will.)
-
I have not and I never will. I have no interest in hunting, I don’t believe a firearm makes me safer for self defense, and I have no paranoid fear of the government.
-
I’m not surprised you would think this and it’s my fault, I should apologize. Normally I dumb down my responses for your benefit, use simple words of a few syllables, etc. I forget to do that this morning so no wonder it’s incomprehensible to you. I’ll do better,
-
Mental illness is a much more complicated and nuanced subject matter than the lethalness of AR-15s. I don’t think the gun nuts have the intellectual capacity to understand the basics of it.
-
Why bother? There are a zillion good articles on this subject. Here’s one: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/11/why-the-ar-15-is-so-lethal/545162/ attempting to argue that AR-15s are no more deadly than traditional firearms is so silly, so incredibly asinine that it’s really not worth my time to rebut it. Others can and have.

Too bad. Otherwise your posts would have made me so much smarter.
