Fuking thugs. They don’t give a crap about the cop’s acquittal. They just see it as an excuse to steal stuff and burn sh!t down. And of course the right will conflate them with legitimate protestors. Throw their asses in jail.

At first I was trying to figure out what this had to do with nuclear war. Then I thought about it some more- this post was written by a Detroit Lions fan, and it seems to be addressed to Chicago Bears fan. And I realized that there are some folks for whom nuclear annihilation might be preferable.

I would not because nothing was ever “done” to Bernie Sanders. In both 2016 and 2020, Bernie couldn’t get southern blacks to vote for him. In both elections he hit a stone wall in South Carolina and never recovered. There was never any underhanded scheme or plot. It’s just that southern black voters are Democrat but not leftist, so they’re never going to vote for a guy like Bernie. That’s the whole story.

Actually it’s closer to Stalin. Hitler was the aloof “leader”, but Stalin was considered, like Lenin and the Tsar before him, to be Father to the people. But your point is well taken.

I am a Democrat and I very much do not wish to see a shutdown. Far too many people will be hurt.

Sigh. The vast vast vast majority of these poor people commit no violent crimes whatsoever. By percentage they commit far less crimes than people born here. They have absolutely nothing to do with rise in crimes in urban areas and sanctuary city laws have no effect on crime. I must sound like a broken record at this point and it’s very frustrating to keep repeating these simple truths that get constantly rejected or ignored. But I’ll keep trying. What’s the alternative? I don’t want to live in a country where we start rounding up people because of their lack of papers.

But you guys are acting like it’s their fault. In point of fact they have nothing to do with it. This is all about a civil war within the GOP.

It’s about police not informing on innocent people.

That’s not what sanctuary cities are about. You misunderstand the term.

What should the Democrats do to avoid a shutdown?

Except that it’s not a stupid idea. It’s actually the only sane idea. If you have a city with many thousands of undocumented immigrants it makes no sense for the local police to ever be involved in reporting them, or rounding them up. It’s impractical, takes away from their ability to fight crime, and creates a pallor of hatred and suspicion. Avoiding this sort of disaster is why we have sanctuary cities and why we must continue to do so.

It’s not racist to say that in Alabama the vast majority of blacks vote Democrat and that Alabama Republicans recognize this and attempted to restrict it, that’s just the facts.

When black votes are underrepresented they are effectively restricted. I stand by my title. In any case this is a big defeat for Republicans.

That’s not me making that claim. That’s the obvious fact that the organized protests would always end around early evening and the riots, looting and burning would begin several hours later. In order to believe that they were the same folks, you’d have to also believe that they hung around the whole time waiting to riot. Or perhaps they left for a nice leisurely dinner before returning to commit violence?

I generally don’t believe in conspiracies so my answer is there is no maneuvering. There is nothing going on behind the scenes. What there is is Biden stubbornly refusing to recognize that anyone else would have a better chance of beating Trump, or that his age is a problem. In the unlikely but hopeful event that Biden changed his mind and announces that he won’t run for re-election, I imagine he would take the LBJ in ‘68 route and not endorse anyone. In that event, based on current polling numbers, Newsom would have the edge over Kamala if that was the contest. But I have no idea how many Democrats would decide to enter the race at that point.

Isn’t Trump on parole? Aren’t there special rules about this? Wouldn’t a normal dude about to face trial have his parole suspended if he was caught even trying to purchase a firearm?

So three videos and one headline from the NY Post. And nowhere in any of it is any of these guys committing violence identified as an actual member of Black Lives Matter. Because it never happened. BLM is a very small organization, and it’s mainly a slogan. Some thugs committed violence in 2020 using that slogan as an excuse, Ever since you and other hate minded people have attempted to conflate that violence with the entire BLM slogan and movement. It’s false, pathetic and disgusting,

Biden is running out of time to announce that he’s not going to run again. He’s got until the end of the year I think. But at this point it looks doubtful. If he runs then despite the current polling I expect him to win because I believe disgruntled Democrats and independents will return to the fold- in the end they won’t stay home because they fear a Trump victory. But it will be very close. Too close. Amd anything could happen. It would be better for Joe to step down.
