That would be a disaster. I’ve been pretty open about my thoughts on this matter. Feel free to look through this thread or several others.

Putting aside her chances of success (which are nil), Haley represents the “normal” Republicans, such that are left, who are trying to pretend that the party hasn’t changed and that they can support Trump for President without spitting in the face of all the values they have long claimed to believe in. But they can’t. If they want to preserve the United States and all that this great country stands for, they’re going to have to support Biden no matter how much they detest him.

I agree with you. Biden probably cheated many times. At least I wouldn’t doubt it.

Trump last night asked by Sean Hannity to give New Hampshire voters a closing message. He responded by begging the Supreme Court to uphold his immunity claim “if you remove immunity Presidents won’t be able to do anything!” Man is he terrified. This whole campaign is about one thing: keeping his ass out of jail.

No. I don’t think anyone is pleased with the current situation: we just disagree on what to do about it.

Some points on this: 1. All of the supposed evidence of Biden’s cognitive decline is anecdotal. It’s contradicted by other anecdotal evidence in which he appears sharp and focused. 2. To the best of my knowledge, nearly 100% of the folks pushing this are very opposed to Biden as President and would never vote for him regardless of how sharp he is. That has to add a good deal of skepticism to the veracity of these claims: 3. He’s an old man. No getting around that. Trump says a lot of crazy stuff but does at times appear to have more energy. Will these factors help Trump defeat Biden? I doubt it but I guess we’ll see.

I was referring to an overall attitude, not to what’s actually happening. You guys haven’t been successful in getting your way yet.

His idea is stupid and it came off silly. But he is at least correct that there is a contradiction between current conservative attitudes regarding immigration and the ideals embodied in Lady Liberty. It really is a question of what kind of nation we want to be:

I agree we have to get ahold of this. But not through the means you’re suggesting. The new President of Ecuador just requested billions in foreign aid to keep her economy afloat. I’m not suggesting that we should just send a check without conditions, but if you truly want to get a handle on this issue that’s what we need to be addressing: making Latin America more economically viable and secure and ending the violence there. Yet the same people who want to close down the border want to kill all foreign aid.

You’re right I should be more specific. You have expressed a desire to: 1. Shut down the border. 2. Raise tariffs. 3. Cut off support of Ukraine. 4. Support Trump’s drilling proposals. 5. support Trump.

It is absolutely as secure. There are a lot more people coming in (creating the crisis) but that has very little to do with any changes Biden or Harris made.

There is almost nothing she can do unless and until Republicans in Congress are willing to reform immigration. Otherwise she’s essentially powerless.

@Hardcore troubadour has expressed strong support for policies and politicians which would help to destroy everything great about this country and bring us abject misery and pain. Based on that, if he says someone has been horrible in office I can almost automatically assume that person is competent and excellent.
