I agree with you. My point is only that whatever one’s views on this issue it’s not going to make any difference in a national election. It’s just not important enough to most people.

I get that you and many other conservatives believe that liberal acceptance of transgender people is a very important issue. But it’s naive of you to believe that it would ever be decisive in a national election.

Reminds me of Tommy Lasorda, the old Dodgers manager. I was a fan as a kid. But when his son died of AIDS he wouldn’t acknowledge it. Lasorda was embarrassed that his baseball buddies might find out. He told everyone it was cancer and then held a funeral. His son’s boyfriend of many years was not invited. Really awful.

I have called Joe a racist at times. He’s an old fashioned racist though his policies are not racist IMO. RFK is a different animal altogether.

As to who the candidate should be I’ve no idea at the moment. Anti-semite RFK Jr is a nonstarter. I like Kamala more than some, but she has even worse ratings than Biden. Gavin Newsom is slick and sleazy and unethical, sort of a California version of Bill Clinton, but he might make a good President. I’ve heard great things about Shapiro in Pennsylvania.

If I hire a company like 1-800 Got Junk chances are they are using illegals as well, and charging me more as a middleman. That’s just stupid for a 2-3 hour job. Plus these are common area fees which are passed on to the small business tenants. Some of you have no focking idea how business actually works. You claim to be conservatives, what a joke.

I have no idea if I use illegals. I don’t ask. I assume some are. The people I use are readily available to me. I know where to find them and they advertise by posting signs saying they are ready to work for day labor. If there are other options I am unaware of it. Certainly I don’t have the time to go looking. As far as homeless people go- I try to help them whenever I can. But I don’t hire them. The simple truth is I don’t trust them. And, frankly, I do t want them on my properties for a variety of reasons.

I find this argument to be absurd and irrational. And I don’t exploit anyone. When I hire day labor, I describe the job needed, they quote me a price, and I pay it. Sometimes I dicker for a few bucks, most times I simply agree. You’ll have to explain where the exploitation is.

We are just beginning to witness the effects of extreme weather caused by man made climate change. Heat is one of them; it’s only going to get far worse. This is the new normal.

The prosecutions are hardly farcical. But that being said I agree with the WSJ editorial. Even if a good legal argument could be made that the 14th Amendment bars Trump from running for office (and I would note that there are conservative members of the Federalist Society making this argument), it would do tremendous damage to our political system not to allow the voters to decide.

I think a lot of people feel the way you do. And zi don’t think it will be necessary. But- if the aged and sick start dying again die to the spread of Covid, then personally I think we as a society should do whatever is necessary to save the most lives. And the larger concern is this: Covid will not be the last pandemic. Scientists warn that increasing climate change will bring about many new diseases. When these occur we have got to listen to public health experts even when they insist on measures we find restrictive or inconvenient.

I don’t understand why you describe this as a pos move. And even if for some reason it was, please explain what my alternative would be. Sometimes I need day labor. Where else am I to find it?

Yes I do 3-4 times a year what literally thousands of Americans do every day. I don’t see anything wrong with it.

I don’t hate Trump (I don’t like him) but I don’t think he was competent. I think Joe Biden is a lousy person but a pretty good President, far better than Trump IMO. I have no idea what Fauci is like personally (but you seem like an honest guy so I’ll take your word that he’s a schmuck) but I strongly disagree with you about his performance. I think he was excellent.
