This thread seems to be divided between people who want Disney to succeed because they have liberal views about gay and trans, and people who want Disney to fail for the exact same reasons. I think if you’re one of the latter folks you’re in a losing battle.

Here’s the reason: because in some cases black people who comply with all instructions are still shot to death. Does this happen often? No. Has it happened enough so that is in the collective memory of every black person in this country and makes them distrust police enough so that some of them have an instinct to simply try and get away? Absolutely. And unless you are a black person yourself you will never truly get what it’s like. I don’t get it either, but I at least try to empathize and don’t pretend that as a white guy I am treated exactly the same by police.

I see. So you’re just taking all efforts to slow climate change and calling it the Green New Deal. That’s really stupid. It’s also really dumb to attack all of these efforts in the first place, and to blame inflation on them. It’s not going to fly especially not now.

Again, and I’ve asked this question several times but received no satisfactory answer: if worldwide inflation went up roughly the same percentage during this same time period (in some cases much worse) then how can American spending be the culprit?

Also @RLLD as of this time I don’t think there is any real evidence that Joe Biden was a corrupt Vice President; which is something you appear to be certain of. Now I am open to new facts, and there appears to be an impeachment investigation forthcoming, so if something comes out that I am currently unaware of, so be it. I have no love for Joe and he pulled some crap send his a$$ away. But right now I don’t see it.

Because most of what you think of as Biden’s “lies” are more like “I disagree with that assessment of events; it didn’t quite happen that way.” Whereas Trump’s lies are more on the level of “The sky isn’t blue; I don’t care what you think you see.”

Also “trying to impugn Trump” is a false representation of what CNN did in 2015 and 2016. What they did is have him on as a guest at every opportunity and play whatever he had to say WITHOUT CHALLENGE. In addition they would play his campaign rally speeches live and in full, something they have never done for any other Presidential candidate before or since. They did this because they saw that it brought high ratings- no other reason. Impugn him? They made him into a political celebrity.

Look at yourself. You’re trying to wrap yourself into a pretzel coming up with reasons for the media. The only time you came close is when you wrote “they were drunk on the ratings”. Are individual members of the mainstream media liberal? Sure, most of them probably. Are they rooting for liberals to win elections? Probably most of the time. Are their bosses liberal? Most of the time no, because the ownership is corporate and typically prefer traditional Republican policies. Is the news manipulated to push a pro-government or pro-liberal POV? NO. No matter how much you guys protest it doesn’t happen. What happens is that the news reports whatever is going to get the most eyeballs, period, full stop. There is no other motivation at play. And, the usual caveat- I am not talking about opinion shows so don’t waste time offering them as examples of bias.

How is it that I knew all about the Hunter Biden story? It was all over CNN and MSNBC. Plus Trump mentioned it at least a dozen times during the two debates. The truth is nothing was hidden or concealed. The Hunter laptop story was out there and nobody gave a damn.

You’re correct that he was a Pro-American patriot. (A redundant term for anyone who lives here but whatever.) Here is a revelation for you that you will no doubt deny but maybe someday you’ll (hopefully) wake up and realize: you can’t be both a Trump supporter and a pro-American patriot. The two are contradictory.

You have written this numerous times and offered CNN and the New York Times as examples. Yet two of the main reasons why Trump won in 2016 was because of the New York Times’ reporting about Hillary Clinton’s emails, and CNN’s relentless interviews and exposure of Donald Trump. Please explain what appears to be two rather large contradictions to your ridiculous amd false assertion.

Here’s my take: in most of these indictments Trump has no real defense whatsoever. He’s guilty and looking at a lot of prison time. So his only option is to win re-election and, in the meantime, try to argue that the truth is not what it appears to be.

I never thought much of her voice either as compared to great female vocalists. But Swift is singing over 40 songs every concert performance. That’s pretty impressive. The Long Pond version of “My Tears Ricochet” is the best vocal performance I’ve heard from her. It’s astounding.

OK. We’ll see if that’s the actual defense that is offered, and if so, if a jury buys it. I have a feeling that, outside of MAGA land, this argument is going to be rather hard to sell. But we’ll see. Also- for Trump to offer the sort of defense that you’re suggesting here, he’s probably going to have to take the stand and testify. That should be interesting.

It’s really a big reason why conservatives are losing everywhere. They hate feminism, hate the Barbie movie, hate a woman’s right to choose, hate the Me Too movement, hate trans and gay people. When you add these to their views on climate change and common sense gun control, you can see that they are the on the wrong side of every issue that anyone under 30 cares about. Their viewpoint is doomed.

I was never a fan until her last 3 albums, starting with Folklore. Then Evermore and Midnights. Best music I’ve heard in 40 years, literally.

These guys have no clue. If Mike Pence had been found he would have been quickly murdered. Same for Pelosi, same for McConnell. These guys were terrorists out for blood. It’s really sickening that these idiots defend them. Part of the disgusting poison that is threatening our democracy.

I think it’s absolutely reasonable for the government to target which college majors would most benefit society and give financial aid to help those at the expense of others. I was a political science major. It was completely useless to me. It did nothing to help me in my future career. I’m sorry now that my parents felt obligated to pay for it.
